Grace
The rest of the week went smoothly. I met with Jessica a couple of times in the cafe to chat about our things, I also had a couple of more driving classes with Reed. I was getting better at driving at each lesson and I was very proud of myself.
Reed and I had been trying not to talk about what happened between us on Sunday night but it was impossible to ignore it.
Jesisca and I were on our way to the ice rink. The boys had an important game tonight and I had promised Reed I would go to cheer for him. He had given me one of his jerseys to wear and I couldn't be more excited about it.
As we approached the rink, the buzz of anticipation in the air was palpable. Fans were already lining up, and the energy of the crowd was infectious. I glanced at Jessica, who seemed just as eager for the game as I was. "This is going to be fun," she said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Jessica and I found our seats, and as the rink filled up, I couldn't help but think about how different my life had become in such a short time. Reed had become a significant part of it, and tonight, I was going to show him my support in the best way I knew how.
As the players took to the ice, the roar of the crowd intensified. I spotted Reed, focused and ready, his jersey bright against the white ice. The game was about to begin, and I was ready to cheer him on, no matter what.
Jessica and I were cheering loudly, joining the chorus of fans who were clapping and shouting. Reed glanced over to our section, and for a brief moment, our eyes met. He gave me a quick, encouraging smile before turning his attention back to the game. That brief connection made my heart race with excitement and affection.
The first period was fast-paced and thrilling. Reed was everywhere on the ice, his movements sharp and determined. I was on the edge of my seat, cheering and clapping with every play. Jessica and I shared excited glances as the game unfolded, the adrenaline of the crowd fueling our enthusiasm.
After the first break we decided to get some snacks and drinks. "They are doing really well out there." She said getting a handful of popcorn in her mouth.
"I know." I said with a smile.
As we headed back to our seats, I couldn't help but notice a few people in the crowd giving me curious glances. I realized that my jersey and enthusiasm might have made me stand out a bit. The thought made me smile.
Both of the next periods were as intense as the first one. The crowd was on edge at their seats, and Jessica and I were no exception. With just a few minutes left in the game, the score was tied. The tension in the arena was palpable, and every play felt crucial. Reed took control of the puck, weaving through the opposition with breathtaking speed. He made a series of dazzling moves before sending a perfect pass to Layne, who scored the game-winning goal. The crowd erupted into cheers, and Jessica and I jumped up, clapping and shouting with excitement.
After the game, the rink was filled with the joyous buzz of celebration. Jessica and I waited by the locker room, eager to congratulate the boys. All of them had already showered and were no longer wearing their hockey stuff.
Reed came out. He looked so good. His hair was still wet, and he was wearing a black fitted t-shirt with gray sweatpants. He looked so sexy.
As soon as he saw me, his face lit up and he pulled me in for a hug. "Thanks for coming," he said against my skin, his voice filled with genuine gratitude.
I smiled up at him, my heart still racing from the game and the hug. "You were incredible out there."
"I had the best cheerleader." He whispered in my ear.
