I woke up early that morning. I had a good sleep but I was ready to start the day already. Reed had practice this morning and I knew he was going to have a hard time waking up, just like always.

I started making coffee for both of us and some breakfast. I could already hear Reed's alarm going on and off. I smiled to myself and went to his room.

"Reed, you need to wake up." I mumbled against his kiss before pressing a kiss in his bicep.

He turned around, grabbed my hips and got me into bed again with him. "Five more minutes."

Reed started snuggling me and I chuckled against his skin. "You need to get up and have breakfast."

"Did you make breakfast?" He asked, half asleep with his eyes still closed.

"Your favorite."

"Ugh, fuck Grace. I love you so much."

"I love you Reed."

He tightened his grip around me and gave me a forehead kiss.

"You are the fucking best. I don't deserve you."

"Come on, you need to get going." I smiled at him.

Reed finally got up and followed me to the kitchen. He got his coffee mug and sat down to eat.

"Thank you...for everything."

"Reed..."

"I'm serious. I needed you yesterday."

I leaned in and gave Reed a kiss. He was already late for practice. He quickly got dressed and disappeared through the door.

As the door clicked shut behind Reed, I stood there for a moment, the lingering warmth of our kiss still tingling on my lips. The apartment felt suddenly quiet, the kind of quiet that only comes when someone you care about leaves.

I took a deep breath, trying to shake off the sudden wave of emotion that washed over me. Reed had been through a lot lately, and seeing him so vulnerable, so needing support, made me realize just how much he meant to me. It wasn't just about the small things—making breakfast, waking him up—it was about being there for him when he needed someone the most.

I tidied up the kitchen, placing the dishes in the sink with a soft clink. As I wiped down the counters, my mind wandered back to the way he had looked at me this morning, the sincerity in his voice when he thanked me. It wasn't like Reed to be so openly emotional, and it struck a chord deep within me.

I slumped onto the couch, the weight of last night finally catching up with me. I hadn't realized how drained I was until I stopped moving. The events of the night before had taken more out of me than I expected.

Reed's vulnerability had been a lot to process. He was usually so composed, so seeing him like that left me feeling both closer to him and completely worn out. I needed a moment to breathe, to let my mind settle.

As I pulled a blanket over myself, I reminded myself that it was okay to feel tired. I loved Reed and wanted to be there for him, but I also knew I needed to take care of myself.

For now, though, I just needed a few minutes to close my eyes and rest.

I was woken up by the sound of the door opening and closing. I didn't know how much I had been sleeping on the couch but it had been enough to feel better.

"Were you sleeping?" Reed asked, kicking off his shoes.

"Uh."

"Fuck. Did I wake you up?" Reed asked, worried. "I'm sorry, baby."

"It's fine." I mumbled with my eyes closed.

I took Reed's arm and pulled him next to me. He ended up laying down next to me.

"How was practice?" I asked against his chest.

"Like always." He shrugged.

We laid there in silence for a few more minutes. It felt so good being in Reed's arms.

"My sister called me before."

"She did?"

"She told me she was happy to know that you were coming to her wedding."

"That's very nice."

"She was very happy yesterday. She really liked you."

"I also liked her. Thank you for inviting me...to the wedding. You should thank her too."

"It's fine." He shrugged. "I should thank you for coming with me."

He gave me a kiss on the forehead.

"So the Dominican, eh?"

"We go there every winter. My dad chose it." He said, rolling out his eyes.

"I've never been there." I mumbled.

"You will like it." He said looking at the ceiling. "And I can't wait to see you in a bikini all day." He joked.

My cheeks turned red. "Reed!"

"What?" He laughed. "It's the truth."

"I can't wear a bikini to your sister's wedding."

"Uh, I wouldn't oppose to–"

"Reed!" I interrupted laughing. "I don't actually have anything to wear. I should go look for a dress."

"We can go shopping today if you need to."

"I should shower first."

"You mean we?" He asked with a teasing smile.
