Grace
Layne and Jess had disappeared as soon as we got in the house. I had never seen a party so full of people.
After losing them, I decided to go to the kitchen to get a drink. I didn't have anything to do.
I didn't really know anyone else but Reed, Jessica and Layne and if they weren't here I didn't have anyone to hang out with.
I had texted Reed twenty minutes ago but he didn't respond yet.
I decided that the best was to look for Jessica and Layne. I didn't want to spend the whole night by myself in the kitchen not having anyone to talk to.
All of a sudden, I could feel his big hands over my hips and his breath against my neck. "You kept your promise."
I turned around surprised to see him. "Hi."
Reed's eyes ran down my body and I smiled knowing that he liked my costume.
"I told you you would like it."
"Fuck, baby." he left out a groan. "Of course I like that costume."
"Where's your costume?"
"Uh."
"Your costume?"
"I don't have one."
"What? Why not?"
"I don't need one."
"I could always arrest you." I said, showing him the cuffs with a teasing smile on my face. "For not having a costume."
"Arrest me, uh?"
"Yeah, I think I will have to."
"I'd like to see you try." Reed said against my lips.
I felt someone grabbing my arm, "Grace, we have been looking for you all over the place." Jessica said worried and she looked at us, surprised to see Reed by my side. "Oh, hi Reed."
"I was looking for you too."
"Uh, sure you were, Gracie." She said, wiggling her eyebrows. She grabbed my arm pulling me to the living room. "Let's go dance!"
She was so fast I didn't even have time to turn around to look at Reed. The music in the living room was even louder than in the kitchen, and there were a lot of people.
Jessica was already dancing to the beat. "Come on, Grace." She said when she noticed I wasn't doing the same as her.
I closed my eyes and started moving at the same time as the rhythm of the music. I could Jessica against me. Her energy was infectious.
After a few more songs dancing I was having so much fun, but my feet were killing me and I needed something to drink.
Layne and Reed were still in the kitchen. "Too much dancing?" Layne asked with a teasing smile.
"We needed a drink." Jessica said while sipping in her cup.
Jessica and Layne started to talk between them and Reed got closer to me.
"Grace."
"Hi." I smiled at him.
"Having fun?"
I nodded, my pulse quickening as I caught the intensity in his gaze.
Reed's grin stayed teasing as he leaned in, his eyes dancing with mischief. "You keep looking at me like that, Grace, and I'm starting to think you want to cause trouble." His voice was low, but there was a playful spark in his tone, like he was daring me to push back.
