Name meaning - A form of iron sulfide, commonly known as fool's gold.

Tribe (s) - Hybrid, NightWing / SilkWing

Age - 5 (15 in human years)

Gender - Female (she/her)

Sexuality - Asexual (biromantic)

Personality
  Overall - Pyrite is an awkward, socially anxious dragon, who is easily worried. When she sees someone doing better than her, she is easily jealous. She does not have a high level of self esteem, and thinks that most other dragons think poorly of her. Because of this, she hesitates before interacting with others. However, once someone is friends with Pyrite, they have found a friend for life. She is caring and kind towards those she knows well, and is extremely loyal. Pyrite is usually curious and decently observant. She tries her best to avoid violence and acts as the peacemaker in most situations.

Backstory
(don't read if you don't want spoilers :>)
Background - Pyrite lived in the Rainforest Kingdom, in a small wing with a few SilkWings. She had a mostly normal childhood, growing up like any other SilkWing, until her Metamorphosis. That was when she realised something awful about herself - she would never have wings. Because when her Metamorphosis came, she didn't have silk, and worse, her wingbuds didn't unfold.
The other SilkWings started to shun her after that, whispering behind her back about 'the SilkWing whose wings never unfolded'. Pyrite found herself alone, other than her best friend, Silversearcher. And she was happy with that. It might've lowered her self-esteem, but at least she wasn't completely alone.
But Silversearcher started to fall into depression. Pyrite didn't know why, and Silversearcher refused to tell her anything. All she said was for Pyrite not to tell her parents, or any adult for that matter. And Pyrite agreed.
Silversearcher's burden on Pyrite grew slowly, as her depression started to worsen, and Pyrite didn't know what to do to help her.
One day, she left the rainforest. And the next day, a NightWing body was found at the bottom of a mountain.

- she became more self-conscious, and her self esteem worsened
- she had to carry the burden, which worsened her mental health as well (she started being extremely anxious about Silversearcher)

Biological Mother - Quietgazer
  Relationship with her - Pyrite and Quietgazer have a slightly distant relationship. Quietgazer works a little far from home, so she'd only come back for a while every week. Pyrite still deeply loves her, though.

  Biological Father - Cosmic
  Relationship with him - Pyrite and Cosmic are closer than Quietgazer and she are. After Silversearcher's death, it was Cosmic who helped Pyrite slowly get better.

  Siblings - Pyrite doesn't have siblings.
  Relationships with them - NA

  Other relatives - her aunt, Skyseeker, a NightWing, and her cousin, Ebony, a NightWing/LeafWing
  Relationships with them – She doesn't meet Skyseeker often, as she works in the same place as Quietgazer, but she is a lot closer to Ebony, who visits very often. She considers Ebony an acquaintance.

  Crushes (Oldest to most recent) - Bamboo (a LeafWing/RainWing she saw in the Rainforest once, but was too nervous to approach), Cove (a SeaWing/HiveWing she met at JMA)

Health
  Mental health - not the best, she has a few issues (low self esteem, anxiety), but she does okay most of the time.
  Physical health - She's healthy other than a relatively large scratch below her left wingbud from Ebony while play-fighting once, and the fact that she has no wings.
  Fears - Losing her loved ones, being alone, being betrayed

Appearance
  Eye colour - dark teal
  Primary scale colour - navy-black
  Underscale colour - a lighter dull teal
  Overscale colour - a darker version of her primary scale colour
  Highlights colour - a slightly dull teal, and silver
  Horns and talons colour - silver
  Build - lithe, but not underweight, her build is closer to that of a SilkWing than a NightWing

i made this oc for an applyfic at first, but I managed to get really emotionally attached to her, and gave her a load of backstory. she's technically my main oc (i can't believe i got this, 2 years ago my main oc was a seawing/rainwing...how did i even get here)

yeah but since she's my main oc, if you wanna use her, could you please ask me first ;-;

also she's a main character in my book hehe
