Scene: Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie.

Amelie enters the shop, the bell chiming softly.

Marin perked up instantly, "A-Amelie! Welcome to our bakery!" he said.

"Hi Marin! Your parents' shop always smells amazing." she said.

"Th-thanks! What can I get for you today?" Marin asked, blushing.

"I'd like a box of your best chocolate chip cookies, please." she said.

Marin beamed, "Excellent choice! I'll get those for you right away." he said, starting to pack the cookies, his hands shaking slightly with excitement.

"You know, Marin, you're really good at this. You'll make a great baker someday." Amelie complimented as she watched him.

"O-oh, thank you! I'm just happy to help out. And even happier that you're buying from us!" Marin stammered.

Amelie giggled, "Of course! I needed something special."

Marin handed her the box, his eyes shining. "Special? Like... for a special occasion?" he asked.

"Yes!" she answered. Her green reflecting his bluebell eyes. It felt so romantic until...

"I'm meeting Luka later. He's been helping me with playing the guitar, and I wanted to thank him. Your cookies are his favorite!" she explained.

Marin's smile froze, "L-Luka? Oh... that's... great." he said stiffly.

"I know, right? He's so kind and talented. I'm lucky to have him as a friend." Amelie said, oblivious to Marin's change in mood.

"Yes. Very lucky." he said through gritted teeth.

"Thanks again, Marin! See you at school!" Amelie said, paying for the treats.

As Amelie leaves, the bell chiming again, Marin's forced smile drops. His eye begins to twitch uncontrollably.

"Luka... of course it's for Luka..." he muttered.

"Marin, are you okay?" Tikki asked, peeking out from Marin's fanny pack.

"Just peachy, Tikki. Absolutely peachy." Marin said, strained.

Suddenly, a customer enters.

"Excuse me, could I get a dozen macarons?" they asked.

"Certainly. Would you like those smashed into tiny pieces or pulverized into dust?" Marin spoke robotically, his eye still twitching.

"Um... I think I'll come back later..." the customer said, backing away.

"Oh, Marin..." Tikki muttered, face-flippering.

Marin continues to twitch behind the counter, mumbling about guitars and cookies, as Tikki tries desperately to snap him out of it before his parents return.

Scene: Liberty, the Couffaine houseboat. Amelie approaches nervously, clutching the box of cookies.

"You can do this, Amelie. It's just cookies. From a bakery. Because you can't bake." Amelie sighed. "Great pep talk."

Luka emerges from below deck, spotting Amelie.

"Hey, Amelie! What brings you here?" Luka asked.

"Luka! Hi! I, uh..." Amelie stammered, thrusting the box forward. "Cookies!" she said.

"Cookies?" Luka said, confused but amused.

"Yes! I wanted to bake you something because that's what friends do, right? But then I realized I've never actually used an oven before. Father says they're dangerous. So I thought, why risk burning down the mansion when there's a perfectly good bakery?" Amelie rambled.

Luka chuckled, "That's very thoughtful of you, Amelie." he said.

"I mean, I could have asked the chef to bake something, but that felt like cheating. So I went to the Dupain-Cheng bakery. Did you know they have 37 different types of cookies? I almost had a breakdown choosing." Amelie rambled.

"Amelie, breathe. The cookies look great." Luka said gently.

She took a deep breath, "Right. Breathing. Good idea."

Luka opens the box and takes a cookie

He bites into it, "Mmm, these are delicious! Want to share them with me?" he asked.

Amelie beamed, "Really? I'd love to!" she paused, "Um, how exactly does one eat cookies on a boat? Is there a special nautical technique?" she genuinely paused.

Luka laughed, "We just sit and eat them, Amelie. Come on, I'll show you my favorite spot."

As they settle down, Amelie accidentally drops a cookie overboard.

Amelie gasped, "Oh no! Man overboard! I mean, cookie overboard! Should we sound the alarm? Launch a rescue mission?" she asked.

"I think the fish will appreciate it more than we would." Luka said, barely containing his laughter.

Amelie nodded seriously, "You're right. It's our duty to feed the aquatic life of Paris." she said, she dramatically tossed another cookie into the water. "You're welcome, fish!" she said.

They both burst into laughter, Amelie finally relaxing as they enjoy the cookies together.

"Note to self: Learn to bake. And maybe take a class on naval cookie etiquette. Just in case." Amelie thought to herself.

Here's the next chapter. Amelie has no idea Marin has a crush on her as she gives his cookies to her crush Luka. Also Marin (male Marinette) is still a jerk and a stalker, however since Kitty Noir doesn't have a crush on him, it takes a while before those negative qualities show up in his hero persona.
