As Hera turned to leave, he felt a wave of panic wash over him, his heart aching at the thought of her walking away.
"Don't leave, Hera... If you ever loved me, don't leave..." Jungkook pleaded, his voice cracking with emotion.
Hera froze in her tracks, her heart wrenching at the desperation in Jungkook's voice. She couldn't bear to see him in pain, couldn't bear the thought of walking away from the man she loved.
With a heavy sigh, she turned around to face Jungkook, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. She knew she had to tell him the truth, no matter how difficult it may be.
"You wanna know why I'm turning you down, right?" Hera began, her voice trembling with emotion. "You wanna know what I'm so afraid of?! Then listen here, Jeon Jungkook, King of Aerith."
Jungkook listened intently, his heart pounding in his chest as he awaited her revelation.
Hera took a deep breath before continuing, her words tumbling out in a rush. "I'm afraid of our destiny. I'm afraid of time. Im not from here, I don't belong here." Her chest heaved up when the words left her mouth not daring to look at his eyes and the look of betrayal he might have.
Hera's POV
I needed to tell him the truth that was suffocating me. I couldn't lie, I couldn't pretend. He is The King and every decision he makes will affect the future of his Kingdom and I can't interfere in the past in which I don't belong to.
"I know you lost your memories and can't remember-" he started but I shook my head and cut his words.
"No I didn't loose my memories!" I pushed his arms away and stepped back while another painful tear streamed down my cheek.
"Look I know this will sound confusing and frustrating for you but I am a girl from the year 2024. I travelled in time, I'm not from here. I know it sounds ridiculous, I'm aware of that, even speaking about this sounds crazy and I don't know how a pendant could lead me to 1857, but this is a dream that can never turn into reality, I don't belong here. If you don't believe my words try to recall our first encounter. Where did you find me?"
"Standing alone in the middle of the street when one of the spies collided into you" he whispered.
"That was the moment I got there, I was in my bedroom in 2024, holding a pendant when I suddenly woke up here" I cried out loud while breathing heavily and feeling my heart getting ripped apart when he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion and froze at my words immediately.
"What are you taking about Hera? I know you aren't feeling well but-" He made a step in my direction but I quickly shook my head and stopped him from coming closer while gulping and wiping my tears away.
"There was a pendant I found, in this palace but in the future. I took it with me to my home.. I was just looking at it when a bright light appeared and I don't even now how it all happened but l suddenly found myself in this era. Please believe me " I cried while he was trying to understand my words and ran a hand through his hair.
"Hera, this is not the right time for you to throw jokes at me, I know this whole situation is complicated but don't play with me because I don't want to lose my temper in front of you, I really don't Hera." He said calmly and l averted my eyes to the side im frustration while pushing the lose strand out of my face.
"Im telling the truth Jeonha... I swear upon our love.." I cried out, putting my hands to my face wiping away the tears that threatened to fall.
His chest fell and he took a deep breath before placing his hands on his hips and lifting his eyes to look at me while my heart was racing in fear.
