The campus of Seoul University bustled with the usual morning energy. Students hurried from one building to another, chatting animatedly about their upcoming classes. Y/N, a diligent and hopeful student, made her way through the crowd, her mind preoccupied with thoughts of Jungkook, her boyfriend. Despite his recent cold demeanor, she believed that their love would overcome any obstacles.
As she entered the central courtyard, she spotted Jungkook standing by the fountain, his attention seemingly fixated on someone. Y/N's heart fluttered with anticipation. Maybe today would be different. Maybe today, Jungkook would show her the warmth she had grown to cherish in their relationship.
However, as she drew closer, her heart sank. Jungkook was laughing with another girl. Not just any girl, but his ex, Yuna. They were standing close, their shared laughter echoing across the courtyard. Y/N's breath caught in her throat as she observed the intimacy between them.
Then, in a moment that felt like time had slowed, Jungkook leaned in and kissed Yuna. The world around Y/N seemed to fade away. Shock and betrayal consumed her, her vision blurring with tears.
With a trembling heart, Y/N marched toward them, her fists clenched at her sides. “Jungkook!” Her voice trembled with a mix of anger and heartbreak.
Jungkook and Yuna pulled away from each other, their faces flushed with surprise. Jungkook’s expression shifted from one of joy to a forced, indifferent calmness. Yuna, with a smirk that barely concealed her satisfaction, stepped back.
“What’s going on here?” Y/N demanded, her voice cracking. “I thought you loved me!”
Jungkook’s gaze turned cold, his previous warmth completely vanishing. “I was just using you, Y/N,” he said bluntly. “It was all part of a challenge.”
Y/N’s eyes widened in disbelief. “A challenge? What are you talking about?”
Jungkook shrugged, as if the matter were trivial. “Yuna was angry with me for some reason and said no one could stay with me for a month except for her. I took it as a challenge and decided to prove her wrong. But it was never real. I didn’t expect to fall for you.”
Y/N felt her world crumble. The tears that had been welling up finally spilled over, cascading down her cheeks. Her vision was blurry, but she could still see the mocking expression on Yuna’s face.
“How could you?” Y/N sobbed, her voice growing louder. “How could you play with my feelings like this?”
Jungkook’s expression remained unmoved. “It was just a game, Y/N. It didn’t mean anything.”
Y/N’s heart shattered as she turned away, unable to bear the sight of Jungkook and Yuna’s mocking smiles. She fled from the courtyard, her cries of anguish echoing through the campus.
