I convinced myself of a lie.

Even though high school had started only a few weeks ago, I desperately needed a vacation.

This wish came true, just not in the way I imagined. That day, on a rainy evening, I was killed by a vehicle.

I experienced first hand how reincarnation forces you to endure unimaginable boredom, and having to put up with the body of a child.

It has been 13 years since my reincarnation. It felt like an unskippable cutscene.

Today is the day I resume my progress. For once in my life, I was looking forward to high school. As a school-hater, this surprised even me.

In front of me is a high school that I finally managed to transfer into.

I can happily enjoy school life, make some friends, and even find... love. I will make precious memories here that I will never want to forget.

I love to lie.

The real reason is to take revenge on a girl, on behalf of my friend Cyrus.

He told me about her, and I feel that my conscience will not tamper with my revenge plan. Maybe I just needed the smallest justification possible to be a bad person.

A pen is tossed towards my face.

I catch it between my fingers.

"We're in the same class, oh and I even got you the perfect seat," Cyrus said, waving from afar.

Great. Although, he should find new ways of capturing my attention.

He gestures for me to follow him.
