siobhan and roger's king sized bed was so comfortable mia almost forgot about real life problems. so as you can imagine she was extremely disappointed to find that her dream of being the richest woman in the world basically living in a castle with charlotte and their two daughters was actually just a dream, but god did she wish- FUCK.
their two daughters, she was supposed to pick them up from their dads last night.without hesitation mia quickly threw off the silky pjs and searched around the room for her clothes while still in her lingerie. after 5 minutes of looking for them she had assumed siobhan had either put them in the wash or she left them somewhere downstairs. either way she needed to get out as fast as she could so she decided she would quickly throw some of siobhan's clothes on. as she looked for anything she could wear so heard a voice coming from the bed.
"you look great mia, have you been working out?" siobhan teases, mia gave her a look and let out a small giggle remembering the first time she had said that to siobhan.
"don't get cocky shibby, i'm borrowing some clothes" she smirked.
"whatever take what you like, i'm so tired. oh and if your going to go out please come back soon i'm always alone and it's nice having you here"
mia grabs a shirt and feels its texture.
"oh yes about being alone, where is roger"
siobhan rolls over in her bed and nuzzles her face in the pillow.
"probably fucking off janice""the third nursery's manager?" she looks over at the tired blonde.
"mhmmmmm they are definitely hooking up" she turns back around to face the redhead. "you know their probably fucking right now." she expresses, somewhat agitated.
"you know you don't have to stay with him right?"
"yeah i know..." she says while getting up "so where are you going anyway?"
"i need to pick up chars girls"
mia finally gives up on trying to find anything remotely casual, siobhan's whole wardrobe is purely black, she gives in and chooses a black, slim dress to slip into.
"how very appropriate for picking your girlfriends children up" the blonde mocks.
"well there wasn't really a wide range of options" mia grins "either way ill pick you up soon so we can go see char."
"you do that I'll go get ready now"
mia wanted to pick up the girls as soon as possible. she gets into her black mustang and even though she wouldn't like to admit it she did cross a few speed limits. She gets to charlotte's ex-husband's front door and knocks. he opens the door and looks at her confused.
"where's char?" he says, looking around behind Mia to see if she might be behind her.
" that's a long story" mia says.
she couldn't say much more before Charlotte's two girls appeared at the doorway. They were both eager to go with Mia and assumed that their mum was just back at the house. as all three of them walk back to the car and the girls say goodbye to their dad, Mia turns to them with a concerned look which makes them both glance at each other as they knew something was wrong, judging from mia's expression.
" okay I don't really know how to say this and I don't want to be too gentle with you or sugarcoat anything because you guys deserve to know the truth"
the 7 and 11 year olds look at mia, worried about what she was about to say.
mia had known the girls for two years now, you would think it would get easier to break bad knews to the two, but no, mia realised that as soon as any form of emotional connection is made between an adult and child, it was now a responsibility to show them unconditional love and understanding. telling them that their mother tried to commit suicide didn't exactly fall under that category.
but she knew she has to suck it up and be honest, because after all they were her children.
"your mum has been going through a very hard time, and unfortunately yesterday night she did hurt herself quite badly"
liv, the oldest looked at mia, she could see right through her.
"she tried to kill herself didn't she?"
mia looks at the girl completely too stunned to speak.
elle, the little girl beside her looks at her sister if shock.
"mummy would never do that!" she exclaimed, tearing up at the thought of her mum ever trying to harm herself in the first place. seeing how upset they both were, mia pulled them in for a hug and held them close while kneeling down.
"it's okay, she's okay you don't need to worry."
mia hadn't have to calm anyone down so much ever since she was a teenager, she would constantly hold reece and autumn as they were sobbing in her arms, wonder why they were never good enough for their father, why he felt the need to hit and yell at them constantly.
mia took care of autumn like a little sister, she was everything to her and seeing how roger broke her, made her feel sick to her stomach. this was part of the reason why mia ever wanted to be roger's little puppet, after her and roger had made a deal he would barely ever hit them again.
looking at the two girls sniffle in her arms made her aware of how far this had gone, they couldn't go on like this, the three of them shouldn't have to worry when waking up everyday because they're scared charlotte might be dead. none of them should ever have to experience the pain of sobbing until they are physically sick because their mother didn't want to be alive anymore.
that's when the redhead decided, this is going to stop now.
