The two youngest brothers paced down stairs anxiously as the eldest spent meticulous amount of time bandaging the girl's wound. His eyes wanting, and sometimes still, getting lost as he looks over her bare flesh. The side of her breasts beckoning him to look but instead looks at her bare shoulders, and the flesh that hadn't been burned from the blast. He stares hard, finishing tapping the wounds, his hand trailing from the end of the tape to her side of exposed flesh. His hand makes contact with her skin, slowly trailing it over it tenderly. She stirs, a slight whimper coming with it as she begins to awake. She awakes with a start, tears flooding her eyes immediately as she tries to move, only to be stopped.
"Rör dig inte. Rör dig inte.. Don't move. Don't move.." She freezes in her movements, turning her head quickly towards the man who sat beside her on the bed.
"Oscar! Is he okay? Otto? There wasn't anymore was there?!" She cries her pain silently but doesn't awknowledge it as she shows concern for the brothers instead. He stares at her, something in his heart swelling. He nods hesitant at first before giving a fuller nod.
"Safe." She freezes for a moment, glad by the news but the fact he had spoken English too. Even if just one word. She nods, tears beginning to flood her eyes more as she lamely gazes over her shoulder.
"How bad is it..?" She sniffles as his eyes soften.
"Inte illa. Inte illa alls.. Not bad. Not bad at all.." She nods shakily at this, trying to stop the tears. It was bad. Not horrible but it was going to scar for sure.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to get in the way!" She rushed out as more tears began to fall from her eyes, his hands reaching out to comfort her but stops himself from doing so. He shakes his head, as she continues. He only shakes his head more, not wanting her to feel worse than she already did. He didn't want her to feel bad at all, or to be in pain.
"No! Det var inte ditt fel. Det är vår för att inte märka.. No! It was not your fault. It is ours for not noticing.." She tries to stop the tears more, sniffling as they fall silently. She buries her face down into the pillow below her, rubbing her face.
"And all they taught us was Spanish in school.." She grumbles in defeat, her pain making her emotional barrier lower. She wanted to understand him, fully and completely. He frowns, his wavering hand slowly resting on her shoulder, making sure to keep it far away from her tender wound.
"Oscar. He come see you." She pulls her face out from the pillow, nodding softly as he gathers himself. Never, in all this time or his life, had he ever expected to fall in love. But he had, the moment he laid eyes on the girl, he was instantly smitten. At first he thought he was just a small interest, the fact she had looked at him like he was a human being with a soul, but now, now he was certain. He had feelings for her, and whoever did this, was going to die for what they did.
But first was time for him to cope. Process. Not just his feelings but himself and his body as well. Otto too, he's been taking hit after hit lately. So the two of them head out, the younger brother hesitantly making his way up to visit the girl in bed. He stands outside the room, working himself up the courage to face her. He was meant to die, and instead she got hurt. He had grown rather attached to her, they all had. So when she said come in, and he saw her, in bed down on her belly, her back bandaged to hell- was enough to make him teary eyed. His brows scrunch together as he rushes closer to her side, resting his hands on hers she held the pillow with. She gave him a weak smile, trying not to cry as she sees his remorse and tears.
"I'm okay, really. It's not-" The tears spill excessively, forcing her to bury her face in the pillow for a split second before resuming. He wipes his face harshly leave his sleeve, trying to believe her.
