Killer
How many days, hours or seconds has it been, since I've last seen her? Last touched or even smelled her? I've given her enough space haven't I? Surely she'll love me now, I even murdered them for her."Wait wait!" It was her face that flashed in my mind when I sliced through their necks. It was her face, smiling, talking to everyone else except me. She didn't even look for me.
The weight of my boots crunched the leaves below, the trees were now empty and fog had begun to dissipate into the air whenever someone would breath. I didn't feel it though, I hardly felt anything whenever it came to not being able to be near her. Does she hate me so much? All I've done was protect her.
"P-please I know we got off on the wrong foot but we can work it out, can't we?"
That foolish girl Alaina was gonna ruin everything, I had to deal with her but at the same time if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be seeing my sweet Celine again. I could feel my control slipping away, I had started to do things unusual to me, just to please her. I even went through the pain of staying away and all she did was forget about me.
I held up the knife in the air, the same one that twisted in my side three weeks ago. I use to feel excitement whenever the metal would turn inside someone, the sound of their flesh ripping and their gargled screams was always a breath of fresh air. I would grin as I sought justice for the victims, but now, it was more than that, now I wanted more, I wanted blood and it was all her fault.
I stopped and glanced at the man writhing in pain on the ground, "what was it you said last time?" I asked, taking another step closer, "it would be a pity to ruin such a pretty face?"
Jerome gulped and furrowed his brows, confused as to what I was getting at, "let me help you, never underestimate a pretty face. I learnt that the hard way, now look what it's got you." I shook my head.
Jerome held onto his side, his fingers were covered in blood as he tried to put pressure on his wound, "what did I ever do to you huh? You followed me around and tried to kill me!" Jerome was foaming around the mouth like a rabid dog, trying to get me to see eye-to-eye with him.
I squinted my eyes at him but sighed when I remembered how dumb he was, "look around you Jerome, Gianni was quick to give me names, your men are dead, you're a murderer of innocent people. It was bound to happen, don't you think?"
He scowled and tried to crawl backwards, "you're a fucking psycho!" He shouted into the chilly night air, I closed my eyes and breathed in the metallic scent of blood.
A smile graced my lips as I looked back down on him, "that's not a very nice thing to say Jerome, it makes me want to punish you."
Jerome's eyes widened and a solid gulp made its way down his throat, "J-just kill me already will you," he begged, the smile never left my lips as I thought about granting his wish. I would have played cat and mouse with him but he was in luck, I was in a hurry, I had a meeting to attend, one I wouldn't want to miss. The next thing I knew, Jerome's lifeless body was sliced up on the floor, next to a pile of his dead men.
Adrenaline coursed through my body as I walked back to my old truck, Gianni and Alaina you guys are next and then I can finally be with my sweet Celine. The same smile made its way back onto my lips when my phone vibrated for the fiftieth time, oh how I love the attention I was getting, the attention I deserve.
