TEN THIRTY ROLLED by quickly as Malkiel stood on the docks—waiting for Cinco. He observed his surroundings and saw how the docks were almost empty, as they should be at this time of the night. The only people that were left were probably the fishermen, getting their boat ready for the morning.

As he was about to take another look at his apple watch, obviously irritated that his correspondent was late. He heard the sound of a branch cracking from behind him.

Not even thinking about it twice, he pulled out his gun in that direction—only earning a deep throaty laugh coming from a man that Malkiel recognized as Cinco. His rendezvous.

" Nigga don't even think 'bout doin' that shit no more" He sucked his teeth and put his gun back in the back of his pants. " You're late" He scolded with a mean mug on his face.

One thing Malkiel hated was people who were never on time. It was a big ick of his. He couldn't stand it, and Cinco knew that.

" My bad brother" Cinco put his hands up with a soft chuckle. " How you been?" They dapped each other up, both with soft smiles on their faces.

Cinco or Enrique Diaz—which was his government name and Malkiel knew each other since he started his undercover missions back in the days.

They went on a couple missions together and formed a great duo, until Cinco got pulled into a much deeper and bigger operation. He had to infiltrate The Los Diablos—a gang that was mostly created by and for Latinx people.

He has been on that op for three years is and now knee deep into the gang.

Malkiel knew a few cops that turned dirty due to undercover operations, they had a taste of the fast money lifestyle and didn't want to let it go.

But that wasn't the case with Enrique, the fact that he was now so deep into the gang didn't change him and his sense of duty. His loyalty still went wholeheartedly to his police badge and his fellow brothers in arms.

" I been aight" He nonchalantly shrugged. " How's Lisa and the kids?" He questioned, despite the fact that he was undercover most of the time. He still managed to have a family life.

" They're okay. Lisa said hi and to step by for diner whenever you can" He chuckled, shaking his head with a smile on his face. It didn't take a blind man to see that he was deeply in love with his wife.

" Aight, watchu' got fa' me?" He cut the small talk and went straight to business.

" Two millions in guns and drugs are comin' in tonight. The drop is at two" He spoke, giving him a manila folder that contained all of the essential informations of this drop.

Malkiel opened the folder and raised his eyebrow, looking over all the informations Cinco and the LAPD gathered.

" Who the fuck is The Runnin' Sixies?" He questioned, confused once he saw a name he wasn't familiar with. He never saw that name even in the case report Simmons gave him.
