I don't think I've seen someone as beautiful as the being standing on the stage in front of me. Her body swayed seductively to the music and my hands yearned to touch her. My ears ached to hear her voice and my tongue turned dry feening to drink from her but not just her blood, I want to taste any juices she released from her body. I would taste anything in or on her. My breath got caught in my throat when her eyes caught mines and we shared looks while she continued to dance. Her eyes were taunting me as if she knew I wanted her but I sure didn't give a fuck. I felt a tug on the back of my shirt causing me to turn around and Adonis was pulling me back. I didn't even notice I was moving closer to her. I stepped back a lil bit trying not to make her uncomfortable and turned my attention right back to her not wanting to miss a minute of her presence. I noticed then she was looking at something behind me...and when I turned to what she was looking at, I noticed that it was a who. She was staring at Adonis. His eyes screamed he wanted to have her as much as I did but I couldn't let that happen. If I have to whoop Adonis' ass myself, he's not getting a piece of her. I mean from what I take it he likes guys anyways so being with her shouldn't even be on his mind. Or did he like girls too? I mean I never really asked him earlier when I was confronting him about fucking that guy. Okay, now I really need to have a serious conversation with him cause the way he's looking at the woman of my future, you'd think he's only into women.
' Brandy ' finally finishes her dance and the crowd cheers for her. She gives us a sweet and shy smile with a small wave and by that, I could tell she was actually really timid. As she exited the stage, I immediately turned on my feet and tried to follow where she would be going but was pulled back by Adonis again. " What- " , I was so fucking close to crashing out on his ass. " I need you to be patient. She isn't going anywhere " , Adonis says. " How the fuck do you know that? " , I ask his smart ass. " Because I know. Besides, you might want me to try to talk to her anyway " , he says pushing past me. " And why the fuck would I do that? So you can try to make your move on her? I saw the way you were looking at her " , I say walking behind him. Adonis laughs and turns to me. " Ezekiel, she is a woman. A grown woman. You have no idea what to do with her " , he says shaking his head. " Oh and you do? And motherfucker I'm grown too so what are you talking about? " , I ask and he lifted his eyebrows at me. " Yeah, whatever I'm going to find her " , I say ending the conversation and bumping my shoulder against his. Walking towards the back of the stage where she could possibly be, I could see him following close behind hot on my tail. I looked around and then I saw her through an opening door and it appeared that she was arguing with someone. Adonis stepped next to me and we both were watching her fight with the other individual. According to my heightened hearing, it sound like she was arguing with a man. I felt fire in me seeing that she was so angry, that I begin to walk towards the room but Adonis put me at halt again. " I'm not going to tell you again. WAIT " , he said more stern this time. Growing annoyed of him and his bullshit, I huffed but I listened to him. I don't want to cause a scene in here nor do I want to scare her, that wouldn't be a good first impression. " FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! IM THE ONE PUTTING MONEY INTO THIS SHIT HOLE! SEE HOW IT GOES WITHOUT ME! " , she says before pushing the door open and storming out of the room heading for the entrance. I turn to look at Adonis and he gave me a small nod and before he could finish I was already moving my feet to follow behind her. Once we reached outside, we saw her walking down the sidewalk clutching onto her black coat. We both walked quickly but slowly to her trying not to scary her away. Once we got close enough to her, Adonis spoke to her first. " Excuse me? " , Adonis asks in a softer voice. I almost looked at him like he was crazy but I had to keep it cool for her. She turned around quickly with a gasp and held her chest. " Oh my goodness, you guys scared the shit out of me " , she said out of breath. I looked over at Adonis and smirked at the foul language she used knowing it probably got under his skin. " Are you okay? We saw you storm out the building " , I check on her now. " Oh uh yeah I just- " , she closed her eyes and exhaled sharply. " No, to be honest I'm not okay " , I took in her face and noticed that she had been crying. The cold from outside and the wetness from her tears made her cheeks a hint of pink. " I just quit a place that has not appreciated me for years and I don't even know why I'm crying " , she laughs and wipes her tears at the same time. " I'm sorry you had to go through that " , I say sincerely but deep down I wanted to go massacre anybody who made her cry in that building. I could feel that Adonis felt the same way. She sniffled. " I'm sorry for crying. You guys are complete strangers, you don't want to hear my bullshit story on my fucked up job " , she says wiping a final tear. " No, we just wanted to check on you and make sure we're okay " , I say holding my hand out. She finally take a good look at both me and Adonis and I could tell that the cat got her tongue. She dragged her eyes down both of our bodies and I smirked at her. " Miss? " , Adonis says to catch her attention. She clears her throat and shakes her head a bit. " Yes? Im sorry " , she apologizes sweetly. " He said we were just trying to make sure that you were okay, are you? " , he asks. She nods her head quickly with a giggle. " Yes, I'm okay. Thank you " she said with a sniff. " Oh uh, I'm Ezekiel and this is my friend Adonis " , I held my hand out for her and she stared at it for a second. My hand shook a bit because she made me nervous just to touch her. She was too beautiful to be real but here she was standing in front of me. Breathing. She placed her hand softly in mine and I felt so much relief. " Toni. My real name is Toni " , she says. Toni. I could feel her name on my tongue and how sweet it would taste. Her hands felt like silk and I wanted to hold them forever if I could. I caught my thumb rubbing against her knuckles and her eyes widened looking down at our conjoined hands. She then quickly let go and I felt my heart drop. I wasn't ready to let go just yet but I'm determined to make sure we have more times to hold each other even more after today. She shifted her eyes to Adonis and I noticed he had a smirk on his face. It was his turn to hold his hand out and she gave him a shy smile before placing her hand in his. He then pulled her hand up to his lips and gave her knuckles a kiss. I can't say that didn't piss me off cause it did. Adonis had to knew that would get under my skin because I truly think he likes to piss me the fuck off. He drags the kiss on her knuckles longer than my liking and look to see her blushing. They pull from each other and then she looks back over at me. I throw a small smile back on my face happy that this moment was happening. " It's nice to meet the both of you " , she says sweet but yet in a sexy way. " We saw you walking that way, you walk home? " , Adonis asks. She turns towards the way she was walking. " Uh yeah, it's a piece of shit of an apartment but it's home " , she says tiredly. " Where bout? If you don't mind me asking " , I ask and she shakes her head no. " No, I don't mind. It's over in Weathersby unfortunately " , she says. I turn to look at Adonis with a worried expression. Weathersby has never been a good neighborhood. A lot of violence has happened there over the last 10 years so I can only imagine how she feels having to live there. " I uh I've heard about neighborhood " , I say trying to choose my words wisely. " Yeah it sucks but it's all I could afford getting paid the amount I was receiving from the club " , she says shrugging her shoulders. " How about we get you out of this cold? You don't need to be walking alone at this time of night. There's a lot of predators " , Adonis says. I shoot my eyes at him thinking on his last sentence. We could not be predators to her. I won't allow it. " Only if you're comfortable with that " , I throw in. " Hmm, are you guys one of those psychopathic duos that tries to lure girls in? Cause I swear I know how to fight " , she says causing both me and Adonis to chuckle. " No love, if anything... you'll feel right at home with us " , Adonis says. I nod my head agreeing with him. I hold my hand out again for her to take and she just stares at it this time. I could tell she was fighting herself in her head if she could trust us and I'm glad she wasn't so easy to just give in. She was smart. She exhaled and raised her shaking hand into mines causing a huge smile to grow on my face. " I could use a feeling of home since I haven't felt it in a while. I better not regret this " , she says looking between the both of us. " I promise you won't " , I swear to her.
