Alastor's POV:
No no no no no no no. This is not happening. There she was, the one and only Lilith, standing just outside the door talking to Charlie with a smile on her face. What am I going to do??? There is no way she came here to visit her daughter or Lucifer, she made it very clear to Alastor that she hated them. She's got a plan, I don't know what it is, but I'm going to find out one way or another.
I stood up, pretending to be putting the book back on the bookshelf, but really I was just trying to get a better angle. Just seeing the blond hair was enough for me to know it was her, but maybe Charlie had a sister I didn't know about that had Lilith's hair color? It's a wild idea, and I know it's not true, but I couldn't bring myself to believe the Queen of hell was standing so close to me. Only 10 feet away.
Lucifer's POV:
I had walked over to Lilith and smiled at her. She gave a warm smile back. I have to admit I missed that comforting smile that could make anyone happy, but that was the only thing I missed about her. I didn't really enjoy her otherwise, but I wasn't going to let Charlie know that. Charlie was talking feverishly to her, leading Lilith inside and to an empty couch. I followed behind and sat on an armchair near. I took a glance at Alastor.
Huh.
His ears were down, and his eyes were wide. I watched him sit back down criss-cross in the floor before turning back to Lilith and Charlie. He was probably just jealous. Lilith was my wife for centuries after all.
"So, Lucifer, how have you been?" Lilith asked him in her calm, smooth voice.
"I've been good." I replied, I didn't really feel like giving her a full answer.
I scratched the back of my neck awkwardly. What am I supposed to say to my Ex? She looked over me, her eyes scanning from head to toe. Her eyes lingered on the engagement ring on my finger. Her eyes narrowed a bit but relaxed when Charlie asked her if she would be staying. I think Charlie was hoping she would, but I, on the other hand, didn't.
Alastor's POV:
I sighed, leaning back against the wall and staring up at the ceiling. I could already feel Lilith's control over me getting stronger with her close proximity. I sat there for ho knows how long. It felt like hours, but I didn't really know. Eventually, Lucifer walked over to me and sat down next to me again.
"Hi, Al." He said softly.
"Hello, deer" I looked at him. His hair was a little messy, a few strands falling into his face. His eyes were soft. I couldn't help myself from smiling slightly at the sight of his gorgeous eyes. I know he hated the color, but I loved his yellow eyes. It was like a sunflower.
"You okay?" he asked, raising an eyebrow at me. I just nodded.
"Liar. Your ears are drooped and I can hear static coming from you. Don't lie."
"I..have a headache."
Why was that the first thing that came to mind? Now he's going to baby me over a not even real headache. Lucifer sighed, his eyes wandering over my face for a second. I pretended not to notice, looking over at Charlie, who was leading Lilith to the elevator. Oh no. That definitely meant Lilith was going to be staying.
Lucifer's POV:
What was I going to do with him? Jealous over an ex, and now has another headache. And still smiling. I hate it. Why can't he just show his emotion's like everyone else. It makes me so frustrated.
I looked at the clock hanging on the wall. 9:34. Already? I guess I was talking to Lilith for a lot longer than I thought I did. I glanced around the hotel lobby. Me and Al were the only ones left in here. Everyone else had gone to bed.
Alastor's POV:
I looked up from my shoes that I had been staring at when Lucifer stood up. He offered an outstretched hand. I took it and allowed him to help me up.
"C'mon. Time for bed" he said, his voice taking on a slightly commanding tone.
He didn't use that tone to be rude or anything, he just did it so I was less likely to refuse things I didn't like to do, like going to bed or eating.
I just nodded and followed behind him upstairs and to our shared bedroom on the 3rd floor.
