just a friend...

Red was in an empty classroom with fairy godmother. While Fairy godmother was trying to set up a computer to make a call, Red was sitting in a chair shaking her leg feeling a little nervous, since she hadn't talked to anyone in wonderland since she left. except for her mother and Maddox.

"Alright! Everything thing is set up, just right. We just need to wait for them in Wonderland to conne-" Before fairy godmother could finish her sentence, a boy with black and red hair pops up on the screen. "Chester!" Red says, sitting up straight and smiling excitedly. "Oh my god, is that the princess of hearts?" Chester says, smiling back at Red. "I was getting worried died over there. Have you been having so much fun in Auradon, you forgot to write me?" Chester says, joking, and still smiling. Red laughs and says, "Sorry, I've just been a little busy. But hey, you're lucky you even got a call today. If it wasn't for my mom and Maddox, I would've forgotten all about you", "Wow! Ouch, that hurts. I mean, really, being forgotten by the princess. That's just horrible." Adam says sarcastically, putting his hand on his chest and shaking head, which makes Red laugh. "Ok, but for real, where have you been? Wonder land kinda sucks without you." Chester says, getting a little serious but still smirking. "Honestly, I don't know. I've mostly just been walking around, mostly getting lost... do you know that cats don't talk here?" Red says, getting a little close to the screen and whispering the last part. Chester laughs and says, "Yeah, kinda. Which is one of my reasons I didn't apply. Everything there is so confusing and weird.", "exactly! I was in the courtyard on wednesday, obviously lost. and I saw a cat, so I told him my class and teacher, and asked it where they were. and it looked at me like I was stupid. I spent 15 minutes trying to get an answer from it, before it ran away." Red says, starting to rant about being lost. Chester laughs and says, "Why didn't you just ask a teacher?", "because I didn't see any! It was the middle of the day, and everyone was already in their classrooms. And when I told Chloe what happened, she just kept laughing at me. And I tried to explain to her that if cats just walk around everywhere, they would know where everything is, but I guess not" Red says, still kinda ranting. Chester shakes his head and asks, "wait. Who's Chloe?", "oh she's my roommate, and honestly, my only actual friend here." Red says, nodding, but Chester looks at her still a little confused. Then Red says, "oh. King Charming and Cinderella's daughter.", "ohhhh. Ok." Chester says, finally getting it and nodding.

"Oh. And people can own cats. like as pets. Cats have no rights here. Like, At all" Red says, looking a little frustrated and shocked at the same time. "So you mean that its legal to own a cat? I mean, it kinda makes sense. If they can't talk, they can't really defend themselves or tell anyone how they're feeling." Chester says shrugging.

"Wow, imagine owning a cat. That would be awesome." Chester says, thinking about owning a cat and nodding. Red laughs and says, "you look dumb." Chester looks at her a little offend, which makes Red laugh even more.

they talked for almost an hour before Chester had to hang up. And when they hang up, fairy godmother walks back into the classroom and says, "Wow, Red, I think that's the most I've ever seen you smile and laugh. well, unless you're with Chloe.", "Yeah, well, Chester is my best friend, and so is Chloe, kind of. Plus, I don't really know or like anyone here, sooo" Red says, pushing her chair back and standing up. "Oh. We'll maybe you should put yourself out there" fairy godmother says, smiling softly. "You know, there's clubs you could join. Chloe tells me you're really good at math and geometry. And that you like to play chess" Fairy godmother continues. "Uhh, I don't really like clubs, or really meeting new people, unless I have too.." Red says, trying to get out of the conversation. "Oh, but Red, that's how you make friends." Fairy godmother says, chuckling a little. "Well I guess that's why I don't really have any. Plus, I like being alone. It comforting." Red shrugs. "Oh sweetheart, that's no way to live. You need to meet new people in life, that cam comfort you more than being alone." fairy godmother says, sounding a little concerned. Red snickers and says, "You sound like Chloe. But really, im fine. Like I told Chloe, as long as I have Maddox and Chester, I'll be fine." And gives fairy godmother a fake smile before starting to walk to the door. Fairy godmother shakes her head, but then Red says again,  "oh, but  thank you for letting me call Chester." And giving her a small but real smile. Then, walking out.
