**Clint's pov**
I stare at the black suit jacket laid out on my hotel bed for what seems like hours. I know I should hurry and get it over with, but I just can't bring myself to do it. I can't put it on. This suit represents everything and everyone I've lost. Nat, Steve, Tony, Wanda, and now Kate, almost everyone I called my second family.
The black silk staring up at me brings back the memory of the last time I wore it. A Christmas Eve cocktail party, when my holidays were ruined by a girl in a ninja suit. A bittersweet smile dances across my lips as I think about the event that ended up being one of the best things to ever happen to me.
Although I had only known the girl who ended up becoming my honorary daughter for two short years, she and I had made some incredible memories together, ones I feel so lucky to have the privilege of taking with me as I continue to live my life. As heartbroken as I am to have lost her, I know her legacy will live on, because that's just the type of person Kate was, good.
"We need to get going soon." Laura's arms wrap around me from behind in her comfortable way, and I turn around to kiss her forehead.
"I'm trying to hurry, I just-"
"I know," she says, picking up the suit jacket and holding it out so I could easily slip into it.
I turn around and she fixes my crooked collar, resting her hand on my cheek in a way that feels so familiar. I smile in appreciation, leaning in to give her a kiss.
"Let's go get the kids, then we'll go."
I nod, and she leads the way out of our hotel room, then knocks on the door next to ours. Lila opens it shortly after, granting us a view of Cooper helping Nate with his tie, and the sight warms my heart.
The five of us exit the hotel, and I flag down a taxi to take us to the cemetery. The car ride is silent, as everyone is lost in their own world. Kate played a big role for everyone in this car, especially my kids. She spent countless hours teaching Nate how to whittle wooden arrows out of sticks they found in the backyard, helping Cooper with his trig homework, and hiding with Lila in her bedroom to talk about the latest highschool drama.
Kate truly had become another sibling to my kids, and breaking the tragic news to them had been the one of the most devastating things I've had to do as a parent. However, it does make me incredibly grateful for my family. Seeing my kids be there for and comfort each other these past few days, has made me extremely proud of them.
"Hey dad, can we get food after this?" Nate breaks the silence that had fallen over the car.
"Sure bud" I smile back at him.
Sooner than I would have expected, we arrive at the cemetery. The five of us pile out of the taxi and I pay the driver before he takes off, leaving us in the grassy field neatly lined with headstones in all shapes and sizes. I lead my family to where I know the Bishop plot is, granting us with the sight of Kate's closest family and friends.
I say hello to Grills, Missy, the rest of the larpers, and Jack, then take a seat in one of the folding lawn chairs facing a beautiful mahogany casket with a bouquet of beautiful purple irises and baby's breath adorning the top. Nestled among the flowers is a children's bow, one I recognize as Kate's first bow. The sight draws a bittersweet smile out of me, because her being buried with it is the most fitting thing I could think of.
Just before the ceremony starts, a police cruiser pulls up, and out steps Elenor Bishop in an elegant black dress, appearance only slightly marred by the glint of handcuffs on her wrists and the three police escorts surrounding her.
