Narrator Pov :

After Tanjuro Kamado died, the family business of charcoal selling was further managed by his 8 year old son Tanjiro Kamado. Tanjiro started working as a charcoal seller in place of his father to help his family financially. He used to burn wood to make charcoal and in every once in a few days, he travelled down the mountain to sell the charcoal. Now we go to a 11 year old Tanjiro who is packing charcoal in a wooden basket to sell it to the people of nearby town down the mountain.

Tanjiro : *hanging the strips of basket on his back*

Kie : Tanjiro, come here !

Tanjiro : *goes to Kie*

Kie : *cleans the soots* You know, you don't have to go today, there have been recent rumours of a wild bear roaming around the town and killing many people.

Tanjiro : I'll be ok. Besides, I am taking a hatchet with me for defence. And I want us to have a good feast for the upcoming new year.

Kie : *concerned about him* New Year is still a month away..... Okay, but still promise to come home before sunset. Or else, no kelp riceball for you.

Tanjiro : *smiles* Promise.

Kie : *shocked* ( It's been so many years since he smiled last time. )

Tanjiro : I'll be off now.

Kie : *waves* Be Careful, and come before sunset.

Tanjiro : *waves back*

On his way down the mountain, Tanjiro encountered his 9 year old sister Nezuko.

Nezuko : Brother, are you going to the town to sell coal today ?

Tanjiro : *nods*

Nezuko : Stay Safe. There is a wild bear roaming around killing people. You know that, right ?

Tanjiro : I know. I'll be fine.

Nezuko : Until you come back, me and mom will hang ropes lined with suzu bells as a alarm if the bear came near our house.

Tanjiro : *nods* Bye !

Nezuko : Bye Brother.

After half an hour of continuous walking Tanjiro finally descended the mountain and arrived at the town. A lot of townsfolk were shocked to see Tanjiro when there was a literal wild bear roaming around the area. An old lady decided to ask tanjiro a question due to concern for the young man.

Old Lady : Tanjiro, you came all the way down the mountain to sell coal even when many people were attacked by the bear near the mountain. What if it would have attacked you ?

Tanjiro : I had an hatchet with me for defence so it'd be fine.

Old Lady : If you say so. Also can I get some coal for fireplace.

Random women : Can you sell some coal to me too ?

Tanjiro : *nods*

Random man : Tanjiro can you help me with these luggage ?

After around 3-4 hours all the coals were nearly sold and he made enough money for his family to last for a week or so without any problem. It was still 1 or 2 hours before sunset so he decided to buy a kimono for his little sister Nezuko as a present for the upcoming New Year. He bought a beautiful kimono and started ascending the mountain. Unbeknownst to him, a certain Hashira was around the mountain looking for any suspicious demon activity around the area.
