The curtain was pulled apart, allowing the sun rays to fall in the room, creating a shiny glow as the chirping of birds was the only sound that could be heard and the whistling of trees as the leaves brushed against each other due to the cool breeze. The weather was perfect, not too sunny and a little windy.
Aarushi sighed as she stared at the beauty of nature from her balcony for a while before turning to look at the clock.
5:00 AM.
Aarushi stared at the clock for a few seconds before looking away. She smiled as she remembered why she had woken up this early.
Today was the day of the commencement of their trip and it would be a lie if she said that she wasn't feeling excited because, damn, her mind was going crazy thinking of all the stuff that they could do there, and maybe make some new friends too, who knows.
She took her phone from the bedstand and quickly called Aditi. After a few rings, the call was picked up by a sleepy Aditi.
"Kya hai yaar...itni subah subah kaun call karta hai bhala?" Aditi yawned, trying to open her eyes.
(What yaar...who calls this early in the morning?")
"Tu abhi tak uthi nahi!? Aaj humari trip hai, bhool gayi kya?" Aarushi whispered shouted, earning a sigh from the other side.
(You didn't wake up still!? Today is our trip, did you forget?)
"No meri jaan...I didn't forget about it at all, but we have to reach our college by 9 AM and it's just 5:23 AM. Why in the world would I wake up this early?" Aditi replied with a small smile, staring at her friend who was now smiling sheepishly.
"Oh yeah...Maybe I was just too excited..hehe." Aarushi said.
"Okay...so how about...you get ready and meet me near the park around my house. I'll meet you there and then we can leave for our college together. How does it sound?" Aditi said with a soft smile.
"Okay...sounds nice! I'll meet you there at 8." Aarushi said, to which Aditi replied with a thumbs up and then they cut the call.
Aarushi smiled and then left to get ready and start her day.
Currently, she was sitting on the table waiting for her mom to serve the breakfast as she talked with her brother.
Her dressing style for today was quite simple. Lavender sleeveless kurti with magenta coloured jacket and matching leggings. Her long dupatta was placed neatly near her neck. Her long lavender earring danced with each step she took. She clipped her hair on the side while her long wavy hair reached till her waist.
"Di...you look like a monkey." Abhishek said, earning a glare from Aarushi.
"Tareef karna nahi aata toh chup raha karo." Aarushi replied with a scowl.
(If you don't know how to appreciate, then keep quiet.)
"Tum dono ka kuch nahi ho sakta hai. Now, stop bickering and eat this quickly." Divya, their mom said, placing the food in front of them.
(Nothing can be done with you two.)
"Okay maa!" The duo shouted and dug onto their food.
"Take care beta, don't go anywhere alone, always be with your friend. Call me whenever you get time. Don't forget to eat your meals on time and enjoy your time." Divya said, patting Aarushi's head before hugging her.
