Third-Person P.O.V.
Friday || 3:01pmThe next day, Z walked into her usual friday class. It was still early before their next class that's why the classroom was mostly empty. She chose a seat near the middle, close enough to pay attention but far enough not to stand out.
As more students trickled in, she pulled out her notebook, trying to focus on the upcoming lecture. But then, a familiar figure caught her eye. It was Magnus, the girl from the café. She was wearing a white long sleeves topped with a black leather jacket and a skirt. She look so gorgeous.
Their eyes met briefly, and Z felt her heart skip a beat. She quickly looked away, hoping Magnus hadn't noticed her reaction. But when she dared to glance back, Magnus was still looking at her, a small smile playing on her lips.
Magnus approached and took the seat next to her. "Hey, mind if I sit here?"
Z shook her head, trying to keep her voice steady. "No, not at all."
As they settled into the class, Magnus leaned over slightly, her voice low. "I didn't expect to see you here."
"Same," Z replied, her nerves turning into something else, something she couldn't quite name.
Throughout the lecture, Z found it hard to concentrate. Every time Magnus moved or said something, she couldn't help but steal a glance. It felt like there was an unspoken understanding between them, something that made Z's stomach flutter with both excitement and confusion.
As the class ended, Magnus turned to her again. "So, how about grabbing a coffee after this? My treat."
Z hesitated, thoughts of Daniel briefly flickering in her mind, but she pushed them aside. "Sure," she said, a small smile forming on her lips.
After class, Magnus suggested a nearby café outside the campus, and Z, not wanting to head straight back to her apartment, agreed. They walked side by side through the campus, the sun warm on their backs as they headed to the nearby café. The conversation flowed easily, as if they'd known each other for much longer than just a few hours.
When they reached the café, Magnus held the door open for Z, and they picked a table near the window. The place had a relaxed vibe, with soft music playing in the background and the scent of freshly brewed coffee filling the air.
"So, what's good here?" Z asked, glancing at the menu.
Magnus smiled, scanning the options. "I got you" Magnus winked.
After placing their order, they settled into their seats. The buzz of the café created a cozy atmosphere around them as they chatted about school, professors, and campus life. Magnus had a way of making even the most boring topics interesting, and Z found herself laughing more than she expected.
"So, what do you usually do?" Z asked, brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
Magnus shrugged, leaning back in her chair. "I like to write poems, actually. Hobby lang, pero it helps me clear my mind."
Z's eyebrows raised, clearly interested. "That's cool. Ever thought about sharing your stuff?"
Magnus chuckled nervously. "Hindi pa sa ngayon. More of a personal thing, you know?"
Z nodded thoughtfully. "I get it. Pero if you ever do want to share, I'd be interested in reading it."
The sincerity in Z's voice made Magus's heart flutter. She hadn't expected this level of connection, not so soon. "Maybe someday," she said with a small smile.
Their drinks arrived, Z was stunned for a moment.
"How did you know I'd order this?"
"Hmm, hula lang." Magnus smiled and winked at her again that made Z's heart skip a beat.
