I NEED TO GET OF OF CAFFIENEEEE"Sophie, you ready?" Biana's voice was a mix of excitement and nervousness as she twirled the envelope in her fingers. Inside the envelope was the first words Soohie's soulmate would say to her. Once she found him she would then be forced by her Elite school Foxfire to form with him for the rest of highschool.
The room was filled with the faint scent of vanilla from the candles Biana had lit, casting a warm glow across her perfectly organized space. Sophie took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart. "Yeah, let's do this."
Biana handed her the envelope with trembling hands, and Sophie felt a strange weight in her chest. Her heart pounded in her ears as she opened the envelope. The paper was thick and creamy, the words written in a script so elegant it could've been a calligrapher's masterpiece. "You must be lost," she read aloud, the words feeling strange on her tongue. "What the hell does that mean?"
Her best friend offered a shrug. "Could be a metaphor, or maybe your actually lost and need directions? Happens a lot with you."
Sophie rolled her eyes, "What a love story, they meet because the clumsy idiot girl gets lost." she had read far too many rom-coms to let that slide.
"Who knows maybe it's and enemies to lovers." Biana said dreamily.
Sophie couldn't help but laugh, the tension in the room dissipating slightly. "Very funny, Biana."
Biana's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Mine's more straightforward. It says, 'Hello, Beautiful.' Classic, right?"
Sophie managed a smile, but her thoughts were racing. "I don't even know what to think about mine. I also don't even want to need to dorm with some random guy, for four years even if he is my soulmate."
Biana nodded, understanding her concern. "I do love the soulmate thing but I don't get why we need to form with them. Foxfire is the only school that forces soulmates to live with each other."
Sophie nodded in agreement, her mind wandering to the potential awkwardness of the situation. "It's like they're setting us up for a reality show or something."
Biana grinned, leaning closer. "Yeah, 'The Elite High School Soulmate Experiment'. Can you imagine?"
Sophie rolled her eyes, but she couldn't help the bubble of laughter that escaped her. "Don't give them any ideas. Although if my soulmate happens to be a 6'1-6'3 blonde I don't think I would mind too much."
chat is this foreshadowing"Yeah you wish, I bet you're gonna get some 4'0 dwarf who reads." Biana joked
"I have read to many romances to let that slide." Sophie joked.
Biana gave Sophie a knowing smile, "We'll see about that when school starts."
Soohie's thought wandered to there first day of school tomorrow, "I guess we should go to bed since the first day of school is tomorrow."
Biana nodded, "Yea we need to wow our soulmate and, for that we need beauty rest."
.....
Keefe was sitting in his room with his best friend Fitz, they were talking about their classes tomorrow figuring out what classes they have together.
"Hey, Keefe," Fitz began, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "Who do you think you will be your soulmate?"
Keefe shrugged nonchalantly, trying to play it cool. "Don't know, don't care. It's just a dumb school rule." But the anticipation was evident in his eyes as he twirled his pencil between his fingers.
Fitz leaned back on his bed, his curiosity piqued. "Come on, you must have some idea. Who's the girl you've had your eye on?"
Keefe averted his gaze. "Nobody right now, and when I do I will be the person who says, "How did you know?" he mumbled, his voice barely audible.
Fitz sounded truly dumbfounded. "I don't know how you are so loyal to somebody you haven't even met. Especially with every girl at school being all over you."
Keefe's grin grew a bit wider. "It's not about being loyal to someone I haven't met. It's about knowing that there's someone out there who's perfect for me, and I don't need to settle for anything less."
Fitz nodded, "I guess but there isn't any harm in having fun if you want to."
Keefe shrugged. "Maybe, but what's the point if I'll know when I meet her? Anyway, it's easy for you to say when you already met Linh." he said with a suggestive smirk.
Fitz rolled his eyes, "We only met a week and 3 days ago. She's also super shy, I barely know her. But she is so calm and serene she kinda evens me out."
any Flinh shippers??Keefe threw a pillow at him. "Okay, okay. Spare me the lovey-dovey details."
Fitz chuckled, ducking out of the way. "Just saying, you might be surprised."
Keefe tossed the pillow back at him. "We'll see about that."
Fitz yawned dramatically. "Speaking of surprises, I think we should get some sleep. We've got a big day tomorrow."
Keefe groaned. "Alright, alright. I don't need any more pep talks about school or soulmates."
Fitz chuckled. "I know you're just nervous. But hey, maybe she'll be amazing, and you'll be the happiest guy at Foxfire."
Keefe grinned back. "Maybe. But I'm not holding my breath."
The lights dimmed as the two friends settled into their beds, the soft murmur of the air conditioner the only sound in the room. Keefe stared at the ceiling, his thoughts racing. Despite his nonchalant attitude, he couldn't help but wonder who this girl was that would change his life so drastically.
