I dry myself off and wrap the towel around my body before walking back into my room. Once there, I start playing music on my phone. I remove my towel and rub cocoa butter on my body as Teyana Taylor's voice sings gently to me.
"Sometimes, we say things that we really don't mean We do things in between the lines We should do more than stand out I'm sorry if I made you feel less than who you are A little insecure Oh, yous a shining star I wanna spend..."
I already have my outfit laid out so I just go ahead and put it on. Londyn says I'm a neat freak for that but I just like to be organized.

I walk back into the bathroom to wash my face and do my skincare routine. I do some light makeup in my room and now I'm ready for the day.
As I walk out into the kitchen, Momma smiles. "Oooh, you look cute today. Where you goin'?"
"Out with Demauree. And then I'm going to spend the night at Asia's. Mommy, I thought I told you this already," I whine. "I said I wanted to spend time with my friends before I go to VSU."
"Yeah, yeah," Momma says. "Don't be talkin' 'bout my memory, girl."
I shake my head and grab a bowl from one of the cabinets, a box of Frosted Mini-Wheats from the pantry, and a spoon from one of the drawers. I set those down on the kitchen island counter. I open the fridge and retrieve the milk. I pour out cereal into the bowl and then pour milk into it.
My phone vibrates on the counter. I put the cereal and milk away and pick my phone up as I sit down to eat.
