She had magic in her eyes

even the stars envied...

I thought I would be able to get home in time for dinner, but the mess I ran into during work won't make it possible.

Even through this chaos, I could only think of her, if she was okay, if she was eating well, having fun and enjoying herself. If she was safe.

Her safety is what mattered the most to me. Especially now that bloodshed has began. This was not supposed to happen. Okay, I know it was bound to, but it was just to soon.

I haven't held a gun in a while and now that I pulled the trigger, I felt the old Leo back. I wanted to change because now it's not only me that mattered, but my wife too. They could be after her now.

Martino walked up to me with gloves on his hand. He cleared the scene and sent the bodies back to their boss, Santiago Valdorah.

The Valdorah family has always been a bitchy threat to my family. We've had disagreements and fights with a lot of bloodshed, but I thought that was all over since they went silent a year ago. Now they're back and I don't know what they want, but I do know a fight has started and it won't end till one of us dies.

"Everything has been taken care of, boss," Martino says and I sigh heavily.

"Okay, I'm going home now," I say.

"Leo, home? really?" He asks.

"What happened to boss?"

"I'm off duty now so I don't care about that shit," He says and places his arm around my neck. Martino has been my best friend since we were kids. His parents served my parents and he decided to do same.

When he's off duty, he talks crap non-stop.

"Did you really just call your house home?" He says and chuckles while we walk to where my car was parked.

"What's wrong with that?" I ask looking unbothered, though I knew where he was going with all this.

"Little Mrs. Ferrari has got you going soft, huh?"

I remove his arm from where it was and roll my eyes at him, "I've not gone soft," I say trying to make it sound true. It is true though, I've not gone soft.

"That's what they all say. When am I becoming an uncle?" He asks with a smirk.

"You won't ever be one if you don't shut your mouth," I say and unlock my car.
