There are two kinds of people in this world: those who do not know and do not master magic, and those who do know and do master it.

Magic! Magic doesn't work like in stories where a wise wizard casts a spell and can summon anything imaginable out of nothing! Magic, like everything else in the world, follows physical laws and rules. Perhaps this wise wizard was once knowlegable enough to understand all the rules and was therefore able to create all kinds of realities. But those days are over. Long, long gone - if they ever existed.

This has been the case since the Great Mother Adaygue crossed the border to face Chaos and took most of the magic with her to protect existence and stop Chaos.

Adaygue, born a child of Fire, who first became the Mother of Fire and then the Seal of Chaos before becoming the Great Mother Adaygue and putting Chaos in its place, left behind those who called themselves her children. Her children absorbed the remaining destructive power of Chaos, magic. Since then, magic has been considered banished.

But banished does not mean vanished. Magic was only banished after the last great mage war. For even though the Great Mother Adaygue took away all magic to weaken Chaos' influence on existence, what remained was enough for humanity to accomplish Chaos' work. Endless wars in which the children of Adaygue took each other's lives and in the end corrupted vast areas with the influence of Chaos.

Magic, what exactly is magic?

A talent, the ability to carry the word in your heart and create with your hands out of seemingly nothing? Mana, the power that is in everything that ever was, is and ever will be? That surrounds and flows around everything, like water surrounds a stone lying in the riverbed? Or the potential of the user, which is unchanging like the stone itself, a vessel large or small, containing the sweet syrup of talent filled with the pure water of mana?We believe that talent, potential and mana are required to a certain degree to create magic. But what magic is, we do not know...
