2 WEEKS LATER

Kori was stressed out, no matter how much she studies and thinks, nothing seems to be right, and when she thinks she found the cure, it declines and fails. The doctors, nurses, staff, and patients were still all safe in the hospital, it was almost the safest place left.
Kori huffs the air and walks around the room in distress
"Knock knock knock!" Kori yells out loud "can't you leave me for a damn minute!" She shouted, Ruby behind the door flinched, she opens and walks in "kori? Are you mad at me?" Kori calms down and she sees Ruby, she was so innocent, she felt like she wanted to protect her "I'm sorry I was just... I was pissed off" she smiles at Ruby gently and brushes her hair with her hand "who braided your hair sweetheart?" She asks, "the nurse" Ruby answers with her soft voice. She sits at the hospital bed and plays with her toy quietly, Kori speaks up "why don't you play with the kids?" Ruby keeps looking down at her toy in her hand "they don't wanna play with me" she answered, seeming sad "why?" Ruby looks up at Kori "because they think I will eat them" Kori's eyes soften at her, her heart ached for her then she kneels down and holds Ruby's hands "I will play with you"

6 PM

Kori was bored, she blows the air and pouts her lips, something caught her eyes, one of the patients had a flower beside their bed, she stands up and takes a look at it "is it venomous?" The patient nods "yes, miss, but only if you eat it" Kori grins "can I take it?" The patient nods their head in agreement. Kori smiles in victory and takes it to her desk, it had something to do with her studies. She pours the nectar of the flower in the solution and mixes it, did she find the cure finally?

"A kiss from her lips would heal my broken heart, a tear from her eyes fallen on my skin would make my dead skin full of life, she is life itself"
was the last thing Kiyoshi wrote in his diary before the rain started, far from preying eyes he was sitting at a bench near the hills, being this far away from people brought him peace. He puts his stuff back inside his bag and walks back to the city, thoughts of Kori fill his mind, he can't handle being this far from her anymore. And suddenly, he quickly runs back to the hospital, thinking he would get to see her again, no... not even see her, the thought of her being once there was enough for him.
"Ahh! Ugh" he falls on the grass, panting, at least he reached the garden of the hospital, he stood up and fixed himself before looking up at the window sadly, the memories were just a past but for him they were alive.

It was late and kori was about to go to sleep, but her knees weakened at what her eyes saw, it was Kiyoshi looking lonely in the garden, she stood in her place shocked. He still didn't turn into a zombie, well almost... her eyes start to swell with tears, her voice high pitched and faint noises were heard from her, she quickly hides herself and sobs, trying to be as quiet as possible but the sight of him like this hurt her, she wanted to go back to be with him.
The rain showered Kiyoshi but he didn't care, he just wanted to be close to her somehow.
