"How long have you and Agent Luke Utah been together?" Eric asked. Blake sat across from him, arms crossed in a cold metal chair in an interrogation room. She slouched slightly, not seeing the point of this session. But Luke's boss ordered it.
"Uh-" She started. "Are we talking romantically or just being in the same room together?"
Eric didn't look up from his notes. "Romantically."
"Three weeks."
"You confessed your love?"
"Really?"
"Answer the question Ms. Alana."
"Yes..." she felt her cheeks warm as she slouched more. She knew Luke and his boss were on the other side of the reflected window.
"Did you know that Agent Luke Utah was an agent for the FBI when you first met him?"
"Nope."
"Is that the reason why you began to date Agent Utah?"
She scoffed, "No!"
"Why did you begin to date Agent Utah?"
"Ghee, I don't know, maybe because he saved my shop and my heart like him? It's called love Eric. You don't know how to explain it when you meet someone like that in your life." She smiled faintly at the glass.
"What's his favorite color?"
Blake raised a brow. "You've got to be kidding me."
"Ms. Alana, answer the question."
She didn't know. She combed through their conversations in her head but none came up about personal preferences.
"Green." she guessed.
Eric scribbled down some more. She tried to look at his notes, but he covered them quickly.
"Favorite music?"
"Uh, anything?"
"Is that your final answer?"
"I'd like to buy a vowel." She threw a wink at the glass, knowing Luke was behind there.
Eric sighed through his nose.
"Are you going to take advantage of Agent Utah now knowing he is an FBI agent?"
"No."
"Do you swear secrecy of Agent Utah being an undercover agent at times when need be?"
"Yes, his secret is safe with me...and Cali."
Eric looked up from his paper now. Blake smirked at him.
"How is Cali, Eric?"
"I'm not the one being interrogated here Ms. Alana."
"Oh trust me, you are. And right now you got 0/100 points if you think I'm going to let you date my cousin." She sat up straight and put her folded arms on the table.
"You buy her flowers yet?"
"Ms. Alana-"
"She likes sunflowers because they are yellow, which happens to be hers and my, favorite color. How about a date? Did you ask her out to dinner or a casual coffee? Which, by the way, don't do. We own a coffee shop, you got to be more clever than that."
Eric sighed, smiling slightly. "What's her favorite music?"
"She loves Blink 182, and the Chili Peppers."
"Favorite food?"
"She's a hoe for sushi, but you didn't hear that from me." She smirked.
"Drinks?"
"Her coffee with coconut milk, lactose intolerant, and her alcohol straight."
Eric leaned over the table, Blake mimicked his movement.
"So you were able to tell me everything about your cousin, and yet you couldn't do this with Agent Utah?"
Her gut sank, as did her smile. Eric grinned at her.
"Looks like you two got some work to do. But hey, thanks for the tips." He stood up and took his notes with him.
"Am I free to go?" She asked. Still in disbelief that Eric played her.
"No Ma'am. We need to keep you here for further questioning." he winked at her as he shut the door. She groaned and let her head hit the cold metal table.
