Kacchan says that it's a fifteen minute walk to get to the entrance of the village so we could keep our hoods down until then. "Does your village do any festivals?" Kacchan asks me. "They do but it's only on one day a year and it lasts for two hours. My mother hates letting me have freedom so I'm never able to go." I explain. "So... you've never been to a festival?" He asks. "Nope." I say. "Well then consider this your lucky day because you're going to your first festival!" Kacchan says "wait, what?" I ask. He never mentioned anything about a festival. "Every other month we have festival week. I'm not exactly sure why but we do. But, when we go we could do all sorts of shit. They have mostly games and festivities like ring toss, darts, and my personal favorite, bob for apples." He explains. I only nod. I never knew those are the things you can do at a festival. "The one that I like the most is the dancing though. Usually it's not fun because I don't have anyone to do it with but now I have you." He says. I paused for a moment. I realized that out of all the things my mother has taught me, dancing was not one of them. "Kacchan... I don't know how to dance."

"That's surprising." He simply says. "But it's alright. A lot of people don't know how to dance and do it anyways." Kacchan says. "But if it bothers you a lot I can teach you." He offers. "Thank you." I say.

"Why have you been so kind to me?" I ask. I don't know why I said it. I don't know why I asked. "What do you mean?" He asked me. I paused again, thinking about what to say. "Never mind. I guess I'm just not used to it." I say. "Why not? Anyone could be kind to you." He explains. He looks over to me and sees the look on my face. "Did someone... hurt you?" He asked hesitantly. My eyes widened. "N-no of course not. My mother just never spends time with me, that all." I reassured him but it failed. "I never mentioned your mother." He said. Well, my bad. "I'm not saying you did. Just, she's the only person I could think of at the moment." I said. "Uh huh..." he said curiously. I guess he didn't want to push it. The Gods have saved me today. I tired my best to hold in my sigh of relief.

Soon we arrived at the town entrance and we pulled our hoods over our head and went in. "First I'll show you the town square so you can see what it looks like during the day." Kacchan says. "Okay!" I say. "Is that where the firelights will happen?" I ask. "Yes, it is." He says. "When we get down there you'll see that they're setting up for the festival." He says. "What does the festival look like?" I ask. "Well, there's a lot of stands that get set up and a lot of people... I don't really know how else to describe it." He says. "Are there lights other than the firelights?" I ask. "Yes, enough to see it from the castle." He says. "The people with fire magic usually get to help the most with setting up. You'd be surprised about what all fire magic can do." Kacchan explains. "Do you do magic?" I ask him. "I wouldn't say I do it. But I have learned how to use explosions. My parents say it matches my personality." He says. "But, you're so nice to me." I say. "Well, I guess you're just special." He says. "What makes me so special?" I ask. "You're just... different from the others. Plus I was taught to be nice to my fiancé no matter who they are." He says. "Oh." I say. I guess that's it.

I hoped that maybe in the short time we knew each other he fell for me but that only happens in fairytales. There's nothing special about me just a prince forced to marry someone who isn't as bad as he thought he would be, but still. I won't have much of a life after I turn 18. Not like I had one before that anyway. I'm not gonna lie. I guess I've already fallen for the prince but there's no way he'd like me back. Even if he did, why would he ask me if we could "pretend" to be a couple in front of our parents. It doesn't make sense.

"Here we are." He said, snapping me out of my thoughts. I looked up. It looked like your average town square but in a way it was pretty. People were moving, some appeared to be moving around objects and supplies for what I assumed to be for the festival. There were shops and restaurants with signs above them. It was a cozy place, I can see why he liked it. "It's pretty..." I say in awe. "I know right? If you see any place you like let me know and we could go." He says. "Alright!" I say.
