Chapter 22:

A/N: This is an upload from 2 years ago.

The roar echoed throughout the dungeon. Even the Xenos currently waiting on the 20th floor could hear its scream. The dungeon's cry. No. Not a cry, but a call. A call for its best defender, it's personal assassin... The Juggernaut.

The juggernaut smashed into the floor, disregarding the damage. Bell whistled as it came in. "this is gonna be tough."

"quick change: bow." He pulled the string backwards. Bell knew that monsters have a magic stone in the middle of their body. Because of the Juggernaut's colossal size, the ideal thing would be to destroy its crystal as fast as possible.

" destroy and devour, spread like poi-" Bell tried to chant but in an instant, the juggernaut appeared in front of him.

Bell's POV

you're kidding, right? It's that massive and still has this level of speed? I knew it would be fast but still, this is ridiculous. Bell saw its claws come up as if to slash him, he just barely managed to turn so that the claws face ignis before being hurled at the wall. Bell flew face-first into the wall.

He didn't have much time to react either as soon as he managed to turn and see the monster was right in front of his face.

With limited options, he did the fastest thing he could. "FIREBOLT," he said as a massive cloud of flame and lightning emerged from his hand. However, what he didn't expect was for the magic to be reflected right back at him.

His eyes widened as the light approached back to him. Bell knew the Juggernaut was weak to physical attacks, but he didn't know that it was thought that because no magic would ever work on it. This time his recklessness really had him against the wall. Quite literally.

The flames imploded on impact when it was thrown right back at him, he felt his undershirt slowly get burned and several burns coming onto him. He grunted in pain but was thankful that his armour at the very least didn't melt.

As the blast, he felt himself falling to the ground. He spun around and landed on his feet albeit, with a slight stumble. 'should I be happy that my magic got stronger? or be angry at me that I'm an idiot?' he wondered. Unfortunately for Bell, time wasn't necessarily his ally at the moment as the juggernaut had turned around. He quickly chanted. It was risky to chant that quick since a single mistake in it can cause an 'Ignus fatuus' but he had no choice.

"REINHERIAR." he cast as he ran at top speed to the other side of the floor. He took the few seconds to quickly take what he had available.

'right, magic not allowed. extreme speed to that point I'll constantly have to use REINHERIAR if I want to survive. Sharp claws that even managed to chip my Ignis. and worst of all, no exit... I'm pretty fucked aren't I?' Bell chuckled dryly to himself. Noticing some of his blood had come to his mouth.

He decided to use only Ignis.

'alright if it's physical attacks. I need to be versatile.' he nodded to himself with his hand on his chin, somehow even with him bleeding, Bell had the time to act like an idiot.

Bell turned to see Asterius smirking at him as if waiting for him to call for his help. Which stung Bell's pride, he would definitely not do that.

"tch, this is a pain," he said as he spat out some blood. Bell grabbed Ignis in one hand. The large sword's weight being insignificant for one his level as he ran in a circle. He ran... ran... ran. Until he had circled the floor at least 4 times. The attacks from the Juggernaut tearing the floor apart. Bell figured it was as good as ever, the original plan was to get used to its speed.
