Chapter 24: Same old Bell nii?

At a Certain Cafe in Orario

Normal POV

"Right so let's get started with this catch up session." Bell nodded and she pressed on. Talking about pressing issues...

"Wait. Before we do that," Rena turned to point at basically every other person in cafe staring at Bell, "Why are they staring at you?"

"Well...being the strongest in the city does have its perks...and disadvantages." Bell let out an exasperated sigh. "I mean it's not like I mind much, but I'm over here trying to like breathe and people fawn over that. Like c'mon y'know?"

"That would be the case, IF I believed that you are THE sun emperor! I mean sure I don't know much about the guy, but he is said to be level 8-"

"level 9."

"Yeah sure level 9. And you started adventuring 2 years ago! No-one grows that quick, if that was the case these veterans would be like level 30." Rena reasoned.

It made a fair amount of sense. From an external perspective, Bell's feat was incomprehensible. So much so that people often accused him of cheating. regardless of whatever issue that could arise, the display he showed wasn't anything to scoff at, nothing could really do anything to him anyways.

"Fair. But hey if you don't want to believe, not my problem." Bell shrugged.

"U-Um..." a waitress spoke up bringing their attention to her, "m-may I take your order sir...and madame."

"You go first, it's on me." Bell told Rena.

"Ok cool, I would like the most expensive thing on your menu. Plus an ice tea." Rena ordered grinning smugly at Bell.

"Sure, I would like a serving of your spaghetti with meatballs and 2 mugs of ale." Bell ordered.

"U-uh sure. Also s-sir?" The waitress called out.

"I-is it possible if you could g-give us your autograph?" the lady asked blushing a bright shade of pink. Bell let out a slow chuckle.

"Sure. Remind me when I'm about to leave." Bell told her as she left.

Rena simply stared at Bell open mouthed. Bell raised an eyebrow encouraging her come out with her question.

"You just bought ale?" Rena asked. Bell nodded dumbly confused at what the problem was. "Bell-nii, you're 16!"

"17."

"Same thing!" she shouted, " You shouldn't be drinking like this! You aren't old enough."

"Try telling me that when I win against a dwarf in a drinking battle." Bell smirked as he leaned back, "but we're getting de-railed. How's Sai been? Any progress?"

Rena seemed to slump a bit as she let out a sigh. That was all Bell needed anyways.

"Not good huh..." He assumed before patting her head, "don't worry you deserve better than that guy anyways. The little prick never left a good impression anyways."

"Bell-nii how could you say that? You guys were friends back in the day." Rena asked shocked to hear what she was.

"That's what the neigbour hood aunts thought, the truth couldn't be further away from that. Besides, he and I used to scuffle quite a lot, I'm sure the trails of blood was enough to assure that." Bell replied monotonously.

Sai Johnston, a name that left a bad taste in Bell's mouth. Obviously at this point, with Bell having so many more threatening opponents to deal with someone like Sai didn't even matter anymore.
