Chapter 26: Only Time Will Tell
A/N: Did I mention this is a re-upload?
Well I have now. Also its caught up with what was written, now I'll write the rest. Though do note.
Walking the Wrong Path, is one of my SIDE projects. It used to be my main, but I mainly write The Last Hero due to writing patterns and various other reasons.
I can understand that some people like this, and I love you for that, but TLH is literally the main area where I improve my writing skills. Namely from chapter 10 onwards.
The day started the same as usual. In the crisp winter morning of Orario, who would expect such an incident to occur?
The only unique thing was that the people in Hearth Blade Manor had woken up with deep eye bags. Nothing they complained about since it was pretty difficult to sleep with the loud noise of two high-level adventurers going at it with their nigh unending energy.
Regardless, they kept quiet. They understood it well, both Bell and Riveria must've been stressed from the long preparations they had to make. Over the past few days, the two had been pivotal to the training of multiple familias around Orario.
They had been pretty public about their actions too since it was getting hard to make an excuse for all the screaming they kept hearing. Of course, eventually, it would reach a point where people would start to realise that some odd was going on.
Not to mention, if they kept their efforts visible to Evilus, then they could hide the actions they were carrying out in the background.
The main focus of the training was to train them in enhancing their techniques. Training them would never yield results as it did with Bell, he was an outlier obviously. But allowing them to hone their techniques made their dungeon dives for however long they have left more efficient and it substantially worked towards decreasing the number of inexperienced adventurers.
Meanwhile, Bell and the others had their own training to be getting on with. Unfortunately, no matter how much they wanted to, they couldn't dedicate all their time to improving their defences. Rather, they decided to increase the efficiency at which they could eliminate their enemies.
Evilus was something that was meant to be destroyed long ago, however, they had survived. Just like an STD that refuses to go away, it stayed dormant, quietly gaining its strength and festering itself more until it recovered more strength than it initially had.
Now, after having adventurers who were experts at stealth and pace, they had discovered 3 separate hideouts for Evilus, and with each were a few deities that kept sneaking out to be of service to them.
Even though they had managed to flush out Dionysus, or rather enyo, Filvis Challia, Olivas Act, Thanatos and had long since terminated them, somehow the organisation still remained on its feet.
The alliance had made plans for one of the largest operations in both the cases years ago and in the Knossos raid, the Loki familia had played active roles in fighting against the enemies.
However, the familias in Orario were divided and their true strength was not yet visible. With the potential re-appearance of Behemoth, only sparked more opportunities for the Leviathan to appear.
International alliance while helpful, only as effective if they had communicated first. If the person in possession of the communication device had been killed then there was absolutely no way that the adventurers would be able to know where to arrive.
Therefore, all familias in Orario had received an ultimatum. Either join forces with the others and exert effort towards eliminating Evilus or, be labelled as one of them and be cast out of Orario with the potential of being terminated as well.
