It was a beautiful day when the Gadodia family came to the Mehashwari family with gifts.
"Namaste," everyone said Shekhar with a smile.
"Namaste," said Aparna with a smile.
The Mehashwari family welcomed them with love. Whenever the Gadodia family used to come, Laksh never met them as he was never at home.
They all were seated in the hall, having a heartfelt conversation. They were enjoying and happily talking.
"We are so happy that our Swara took great care of yours," said Sharmishtha with a proud look.
"Ji, your Swara is amazing; she has just become like our daughter," said Aparna with a smile.
They all talked more. Shekhar was praising Swara with each and every passing second. They all danced, enjoyed, and cut the cake as well. It wasn't any special day, but they were still celebrating. They were all enjoying.
"Where is Laksh? He is nowhere to be seen," asked Shekhar, looking here and there.
"He is in his room doing some work," said Aparna with a smile.
While Laksh was observing everything from above without getting caught.
They were all enjoying themselves when Laksh came downstairs, clapping loudly.
"Wow, what a family you all are, na?" said Laksh, laughing loudly.
"Laksh, what are you saying?" asked Aparna.
"Arre maa, I am telling the truth only. These Gadodias, and of course, we are such amazing people! What to say?" said Laksh sarcastically.
"What do you mean, Laksh?" asked Sanskar.
"No, Sanskar, stop for a second. I am thinking that these Gadodias have another daughter as well, Ragini, but I have never seen them worried for her or trying to find her," said Laksh, pointing at each and every Gadodia.
"But Laksh, you told us that Ragini is your business partner," said Shekhar.
"Uncle, Ragini isn't my business partner; her boss, Ahaan, is my business partner. But have you ever tried to find out where Ragini is living? How she is? Here you all are, so happy celebrating, but I have never seen anyone—anyone means anyone—crying for her or missing her. Did you all share any relationship with her?" said Laksh, shouting.
"Laksh, is this the way to talk to your elders?" asked Aparna.
"No, Maa, I have one question for you. Shekhar Uncle, you had Ragini when she was born; since then, she has been with you. Then how did Swara become so important to you? How come you spent so many years with Ragini, but spending only a small amount of time brought you and Swara close?" said Laksh, pointing at Shekhar.
Everyone was just looking at him.
"To be honest, not a single person shouted at me on the day I left Ragini. No one! You all blamed Ragini. Arre, Shekhar, you also have another daughter, Swara. If someone did this to her, would you act the same? In our house, there is also a daughter. If someone had done the same thing to our family's daughter, would we all be quiet? Then why were you all quiet when it happened to Ragini? Because she wasn't close to anyone, nobody thought of her as their own. For once, think about her. Maybe your little attention can lighten her heart," said Laksh, shouting on his nerves.
"I totally agree with Laksh. I know I also didn't support her, but to be honest, she never deserved that treatment. No girl should be treated like this. Even though Laksh blamed her character, as a family, you all never shouted at him, as if you yourself do not trust your daughter," said Sanskar, showing his disappointment.
"Sanskar, you can't talk to my family like this," said Swara, shouting.
"When my brother spoke about your sister, then where was this so-called anger? Sorry, but I didn't see it, like seriously," said Sanskar, looking at her.
All the while, the Gadodia family and the Maheshwari family were looking down, hearing Sanskar. Swara also looked down. They all knew that what Laksh and Sanskar were speaking was the truth. They never supported Ragini. All were thinking about Ragini and how they would even show her their faces and how they would apologize to her. They all were silently shedding tears, remembering their mistakes.
The air was filled with guilt—the guilt everyone had in their hearts, even Laksh and Sanskar. Though they knew they were speaking for Ragini, they also knew that Laksh was one of the main reasons Ragini had to go through this. Sanskar also knew that he never took a stand when Ragini needed it.
The need for a single support system couldn't have hurt Ragini's heart that much, but not a single person took a stand. In fact, they all blamed her, forced her to leave the house, and never tried to contact her or find out how she was doing. The pain her heart carried cannot be imagined by anyone.
