Chapter 18: Home Invasion

(Summary: It's up to Uzi, Grigor, and Carys to stop the Crimson Rider and try to save Flynt before the AbsoluteSolver takes him past the point of no return.)

At The Colony...

3rd Person

The scene opened up in the Colony as Uzi, Grigor, and Carys walked down the halls of the bunker.

As they did, the classmates were whispering to each other and some even greeted them as if they lived in the Colony for a while.

"Hey! Thanks for helping us!"

"Who are they?"

"Where do they come from?"

"The girl one is kinda hot."

After Grigor and Carys seemed annoyed by that last comment, Uzi opened up the door to her apartment and said, "And this is where I live. Not sure if you have been here before in your universe, but meh."

Uzi opened up the fridge so she could get a drink of oil.

"We live in room 1012 in our universe," Grigor commented when he looked around, seeing everything is the same as his own universe. "It's small and pretty barebones but doable."

"Huh... Funny. That's where Flynt used to live until he moved to our apartment." Uzi commented, taking a sip from her drink.

"Two peas in a pod." Carys joked, causing Grigor to chuckle at it.

Stopping from drinking for a moment, Uzi asked, "Out of curiosity, how did I, I mean, your Uzi, meet you?"

Carys thought momentarily until she asked, "Do you have a map of the city?"

"Yeah," Uzi said, walking into her room and coming out with a rolled-up map of the city. "What does this have to do with my random question?"

Carys looked for a few seconds before pointing at the location of a commissary on the opposite side of the city from where the colony bunker was located.

"We were hunkered down in this commissary for a short time after each of us woke up," Carys answered. "I caught y- her stealing some charger cables late one night, and she ran out when she saw me. The following day, she ambushed us at this sporting goods store."

She pointed to another building on the map.

"She knocked us both out and dragged us back to the colony, where we woke up in one of the other rooms. I was handcuffed to a sink drain pipe and Grigor to a broken radiator."

"Oof... Well, to be fair, if I met Flynt in that position, I would have knocked him out too," Uzi said, having a sheepish smile, causing them to wonder how she met Flynt.

"I assume it was a bit less... painful?" Grigor asked, still remembering how his Uzi knocked him out.

"Well, you could say that..." Uzi said as she sat down on the couch. "Flynt told me that he left Harmony with an experimental transport ship to deliver Murder Drones to other planets. After stealing it, he immediately got attacked and lightfold to Copper 9's moon. After the debris of the planet's broken side had damaged the ship, Flynt abandoned it and crashed onto its surface. After he got new gear, he walked for a day until he passed out in an electronics store. I was searching for parts for my Sick As Hell Railgun until I saw him unconscious. Before I could leave him to die, something in me wanted me to save him. So, after I groaned loudly, and after using his rifle to kill Violet when I first saw her, I took Flynt's body to our colony to be interrogated. After he cooperated, Flynt and I became friends and then went to school together."
