Wendy felt her breath catch in her throat at Hoseok's request. The room seemed to hold its breath, the weight of his words hanging in the air. She glanced at Yoongi, whose expression mirrored the shock and hope she felt bubbling up inside her.
"Live together... again?" Wendy repeated, her voice barely above a whisper. It was as if her mind couldn't fully grasp the enormity of what her son was asking.
Hoseok nodded, his eyes pleading. "Mumma, I know things haven't been easy, and I know that Dad made mistakes—big ones—but I believe that if we all try, really try, we can be a family again. The way we were before everything fell apart."
Wendy looked into her son's eyes, seeing the sincerity and the desperation there. He wasn't just asking for himself—he was asking for all of them, for Jimin, for YN, and even for Yoongi.
"Son, it's not that simple," Wendy started, trying to keep her voice steady. "There's so much hurt, so much pain. We can't just go back to how things were. It doesn't work that way."
Hoseok stepped closer, taking her hands in his. "I know, Mumma. But we can start fresh. We can build something new, something stronger. Please, give it a chance. For us, for YN, for all of us."
Wendy's heart ached with the desire to give her children the family they deserved, but the wounds were still fresh, the trust still fragile. She looked over at Yoongi, who stood silently, his eyes filled with regret and hope. Could she really take that leap again?
Jimin, who had been quietly listening, finally spoke up. "Mom, Hobi Hobi's right. We’ve been apart for so long, and it’s been hard. But I think we’re all ready to try again. We need to try again."
YN, who had been silently wrestling with her own emotions, wiped away her tears and looked at her mother. "I don’t know if I’m ready to forgive everything, but... I do miss us. I miss having a family. Maybe we could try, just... see if it works."
Wendy’s eyes welled up with tears as she looked at her children, their faces filled with hope and a longing for something better. She turned to Yoongi, who was watching her with bated breath, waiting for her answer.
"I don’t know if we can ever go back to what we were," Wendy said slowly, her voice trembling. "But maybe, just maybe, we can find a way forward together. It won’t be easy, and it will take time. But if all of you are willing to try, then I’m willing too."
Yoongi’s eyes filled with tears as he took a step forward. "Wendy, I promise I’ll do whatever it takes to make this work. I won’t let you down again. I swear it."
Wendy nodded, her heart pounding with a mixture of fear and hope. "Then we take it one day at a time. We try to rebuild this family, piece by piece. But know this, Yoongi—if you ever hurt our kids again, there will be no second chances."
Yoongi nodded, his voice thick with emotion. "I understand. And I’ll prove to you, to all of you, that I’m here to stay."
The room was silent for a moment, the gravity of their decision settling over them. It was a fragile truce, a tentative step towards healing, but it was a step nonetheless.
