Your dad was usual to host dinners with his friends, but you didn't like them, they were rude to you, they treated you like a kid, and left you alone all nights, except for Logan. He was always nice and kind to you, he would always talk to you and spend time with you, and you loved that cause your dad never paid attention to you, but Logan did, and when you were with him you felt appreciated.

It was almost nine o'clock and you were setting the big table in the backyard. You decorated it with some fairy lights, and placed soft cushions on the wooden chairs. You knew it was soon going to be ruined, but you liked the way everything looked.

"I'll finish here, go get ready, they'll be here any moment." Your dad said to you not bothering to look at you. But you were used to it, so you didn't care that anymore. Since your mother died he started to act weird with you, you were told that you reminded him of your mom, but it wasn't fair, you didn't feel wanted, you felt like he was doing you a favor to stay with you.

You ran upstairs to go and put on some make up, just a bit of blush on your pale cheeks, mascara, and highlight on your nose. You then looked for a cute skirt in your wardrobe but you couldn't find the one you wanted, it was probably in the washing machine, so you opted for a baby pink dress and black converse.

You heard voices from the backyard so you assumed people were already getting here. You hurried to get ready just cause you cared to be on time, cause you knew they didn't care.

You sighed and walked down the stairs, only to met Logan, who was hugging your dad. He was holding a box of beers who was soon taken to the table by your dad.

"Hi Logan." You said making him turn around. "There you are freckle." You chuckled at the pet name he used to talk to you. You had freckles all over your face, and the first thing he said to you, a couple of years ago when you two first met was "I like the freckles, are they real?"

You hugged him wrapping your arms around his waist, you could smell his scent, it was so comforting to you, and when you pulled away you already felt the need to hug him again.

You couldn't lie, you had a sweet spot for him, you had a little crush on him. Every time he came home to hang out with your dad, to drink a beer, to watch a game on the TV, you always found yourself glancing at him, trying not to get caught.

"How're you doing kid?" He asked you brushing his hand on his cheek. He was looking at you like you were the only thing in his world. He knew about the situation with your dad, so he wanted to treat you better, not to compete with him, just for your sake, to make you feel important, cause you were to him.

"Great, what about you?" You replied leaning on the wall behind you. "I'm fine, just a bit tired." He shrugged off sighing. "Y/n you did make that cake right?" Your dad asked you breaking the tension between you and Logan.

"Uhm yeah, I'll bring it out in a second dad." You hurried to the kitchen, Logan didn't left, he followed you in the room. From the kitchen you could see the backyard, the table was occupied by five men, you recognized three faces, and they were the most annoying ones. "Did you bake this?"

"Yes. It' a chocolate cake, cause I know you like chocolate." You said giggling, and Logan's heart melted. "You're such a sweetie." Your legs went weak when he said those things to you, and you liked it a lot, you couldn't lie.

"That's cause you're my favorite dad's friend." You said hoping to haven't crossed the line. It was true, it was the only one that cared about you, that talked to you, that treated you like you deserved.
