Jake was feeling particularly disoriented and jittery whilst he finally set foot into the hallway of the high school.

He did, however, have the tag he had been waiting for; it included a note in the back that read his full week's schedule, which was an enormous help given Jake's tendency to forget important details a lot.

Though it wasn't much of a help when it didn't say the classroom numbers, which would mean he'll have to ask someone, which wasn't on Jake's today's to-do list at all.

So much for his plan to stay introverted the first day, Jake thought with a frown.

But Jake didn't want to be reprimanded either way. It was a better option to ask someone where the class was than to be humiliated by the professor in front of the entire class for being 20 minutes late.

Looking around determinedly for a few seconds in search of a passerby who could help him locate his class, he spotted a tall boy who was leaning against a locker by himself.

He had black hair, which was of medium length; it dragged down around his neck but didn't go any further down. His gaze was stern and narrow, and Jake was certain that the boy could intimidate anyone with the right look.

He gulped. Perhaps he should look for someone else...

Or nevermind!

The boy in question focused his gaze on Jake, who tensed awkwardly.

Clearing his throat, he headed towards the black-haired, attempting to appear confident, despite the fact that he was highly aware that his stance while walking appeared rattled and strained.

Standing in front of the boy, Jake gave a small wary smile.

"Uh.. Sorry for staring. I was just wondering if you know where biology—"

Jake was cut short when the boy started walking off. Jake stuttered in confusion.

"Hey! I was talking to you!" Jake shouted, earning a few looks from people that passed by, which Jake realised was really embarrassing, however the boy did not look back, he turned a corner and disappeared.

Jake shimmered down in humiliation.

'Argh. That was embarrassing, now what do I do?' he thought.

In the end, Jake decided to stick to his original plan of asking someone (preferably someone with a friendlier face and vibe this time).

He sighed, hoping to find someone in the hallway that was happy enough to help him.

However, Jake realised after his moment of thinking, that everyone had gone to class as considering the only one in the once-busy corridor was himself.

Brilliant. This was a great start to his great first day.

Unexpectedly, a few mere seconds later, Jake's world brightened up again.

Hearing light footsteps and friendly voices, Jake quickly fixed his attire to look presentable so that they don't ignore him for looking distressed.

They turned the corner the moment Jake placed his phone in his pockets.

They were both boys - an obvious declaration.

One of the boys had black hair, but he had a few blonde highlights at the front but it actually looked really good on him. His eyes; which was an exact resemblance of a feline, were seen a bit narrowed, but they had a shine in them which gave Jake a friendly vibe.
