Right now, Jake and his family were driving into town to meet Mrs Garcia, the mother of the exact family that had died tragically two days prior when it was announced on national television.
They were all silent, all equally deep in thought. Adversely, they all thought the same thing, how could a merciless, inhumane beast do something so drastically to an innocent family?
Though, they figured that they'd leave that for the police to handle, all they are to the case is a local family to the victims.
Pressing his arm onto the car window, Jake sighed, he hoped Mrs Garcia was doing alright, the sudden loss must've changed her emotionally, but Jake had a feeling with him and his family's visit, she'll feel a bit better with familiar faces, but he'll have to see if that's the case when they arrive at the cafe they all scheduled to meet at.
His mom in the passenger seat held a few gifts for the woman, they weren't large or anything but a good size for a grieving gift.
Jake and his mom even brought a boutique of flowers, specifically the typical bereavement flowers of forget-me-nots and orchids, which Jake persuaded his mom would be a great match for Mrs Garcia.
They pulled up into the small town's parking lot not a while later. Unbuckling his seatbelt, Jake quickly stepped out of the car and went towards the boot to retrieve the flowers where he did a few double checks to see if the flowers were damaged anywhere, thankfully, they weren't, even with the aftermath of his stepdad's atrocious driving skills.
"You got everything?" His mom asked whilst he walked up to her, looking up he gave a tiny grin, "Yeah, they're not broken even with the man's terrible driving!" His mom laughed at his critical comment of her husband's driving.
"Oh what a comedian.. You're just mad you failed your driving test Jaeyun." His stepdad bellowed behind him comically, making Jake turn around towards his stepdad with a glare and a pout.
"Hey! That's sensitive information!" His stepdad grinned and began to laugh, his mom following the action too, much to Jake's humiliation, again.
"Oh whatever, let's go already, Mrs Garcia is probably waiting for us!" Jake mumbled, taking the lead towards the cafe with his parents trailing behind him.
His mom catched up to him, "Jaeyun, Alicia allowed us to not be formal with her, at least spare us the flustering scene of you calling her Mrs Garcia when she sees you as her additional son!" she jested, nudging him gently with a laugh.
"Oh. Yeah. Sorry I forgot." Jake sheepishly exclaimed with a grin, his mom sighed lovingly. "It's fine, just know that you don't need to be formal with her, that is all I ask of you to know." Jake smiled and ended the conversation with an, "Okay, okay."

The cafe was a place Jake knew he'd find himself the majority of his time in.
For starters, it had a lot of additional space for anyone who just wanted to study or hangout in, the only things you could really hear are mild conversations happening around and the occasional buzz of the coffee machine or the gentle jazz music on the radio that played quietly in the background.
The seats were cream coloured booths with white pillows, the floors which were dark-pine wooden tiles matched well with the colour scheme of the cafe, the lighting was perfect in Jake's sense of eyesight, not too eye-blinding and not too dark.
