The fine print between us

Darla swipes her card and it says declined
"what how?!?"
She says. The cashier looks at her up and down looking annoyed "mam swipe your card again"  "No it's ok I'll just pay with cash" Darla said while feeling embarrassed. Darla gives her the money, gets her stuff and walks out the store.

"Ugh I need to get a job"

She looks at her bank account and sees 17.43 cents

  "what how?!".

Darla starts to walk home and while she's walking she sees a flyer that said "if you call 345-563-6677 ( authors note: this is a false phone number do not call) you can sign up to be in a position where you protect private information, the pay is 40 dollars per hour. Prank calls will not be tolerated" Darla gasps and takes a picture of the flyer,

"is this really real"

a girl next to Darla speaks

"well you never know"

"whatever go get scammed"  the girls states

Darla sighs knowing that she may be right.

"Well good luck getting scammed" the woman says

Darla looks at her then looks at the flyer and says "I mean I could call them right now"

Darla looks back at where the woman was standing but she was gone. "Huh thats weird"
Darla says in a confused tone. She keeps walking until she gets to her apartment and sees her roommates "I am back" Darla yells .

Ren comes out and says "did you buy the stuff" "do you mean the cereal?".
"Yeah gimme some milk please" Ren said

"no get it yourself"

"but I said please"

"too bad I have things to do" Darla says as she wipes the Counter.

"Whatever" Ren replies as he grabs the milk, Darla grabs her phone and goes to the picture of the flyer that she took.

"What's that"

"it's a flyer for a job".

"I thought you had money" Ren responds

"I wish"

"Where's Jacob"
Darla asks while putting the groceries away "I think he went to work" "he has a job?!" Darla said in an angry voice.

"and he still hasn't paid his part of rent?!?!" Darla screamed "Well I am going to my room"  Ren stated trying to avoid the conflict. After a bit Darla sits down and she said to herself "I mean 40 dollars a hour is really good money and I did take a coding class in high school so maybe I could sign up". She decides to call the number *BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP* a robotic voice spoke from the other side of the phone

"hello you have reached Nightmare inc click one if you're seeking a job-" Darla quickly clicks one  "click one if you want to sign up for the manager position click two if you want to protect private information" Darla clicks two "we're going to run a background check on you then we'll call you to go to the interview if you pass".

The robot hangs up and Darla gets really happy

"OH MY GOSH I HAVE A CHANCE"

Darla says while jumping up and down.

She pauses and realizes something

"wait why didn't they ask for any of my information"

Darla then starts to panic and try's to call them back *BEEP BEEP BEEP BOOP* nothing she calls again and again but no one answers. She tries and again until she looks at her phone and it states

"This number is not available"

She gets confused

"What?! But they just called me how is that possible!"

Darla looking at her phone decided that there was nothing she could do about this, so she eventually shrugged it off.

"Crap I forgot about my homework" she said despising the idea of it.

She gets up and goes to her room to do her homework. Later on Jacob quietly opens the door. Darla heard this and reminded herself about how he has yet to pay his rent, Darla starts stomping to the living room to confront him.

"where's your money" Darla says angrily

"what money?" Jacob asks

"for your rent"

"ohh I forgot about that"

"What do you mean you 'forgot' rent is due on Friday, you better hurry, and go shower you stink"

"I'll pay you on Thursday"

"you better" Darla says

"Yes ma'am" Jacob said while saluting her jokingly

Darla rolls her eyes but she slightly smiles

Darla goes back to her room to get her work done. All of the sudden she heard a loud *BANG BANG* sound "ugh I swear I can't catch a break"

She looks out the window and sees Richard (Darla's ex) throwing rocks at her window. She opens her window and in a angry tone says 

"What do you want"

"I am sorry for cheating on you it was all a mistake please forgive me"  Richard told her in a desperate tone.

"I forgive you Richard but that doesn't mean I love you and stop throwing stones at my window you're going to break it" Darla says annoyed "that'll just cost more money that I don't have" she says mumbling under her breath.

"Please stop being mean and get back with me you don't get it I need you Darla" Richard says in an aggressive voice.

"I am not being mean or rude I am following what I want and you are not something that I want" Darla says then she closes the window. 

Five minutes later she hears Richard start driving off.

Darla goes back to the desk and starts to finish her homework. 3 hours goes by and by then she gets sleepy so she gets up from her desk to her bed and goes to sleep.
