The fine print between us

Darla  woke up to her ear piercing alarm.

"Ugh I hate school" she said as she turned her alarm off. She got up and walked to the bathroom to get ready. After that she put her uniform on and ate a piece of leftover chicken from the day before.

She hopped in her car and drove to school but she was suddenly reminded of her mom. Darla's mother was never really around, she would usually be at clubs and bars most nights and during the day she would be at work. Because of this Darla's dad would take care of Darla and her siblings.

She felt like her mom was a stranger in her house when she would come home she would just be in her room all day. When Darla would try to talk to her mom she would just ignore her. This continued until Darla was ten and her dad died from cardiac arrest this is when Darla's mom started to get her crap together. Her mom started to pay more attention to her kids and stopped going to clubs and bars and began to love her children.

She started to get more involved in Darla, Nick, and Sasha's lives(Nick and Sasha are Darla's siblings) by taking them to school making them food and spending quality time with her children. But unfortunately one day her mom packed her bags in tears and left Darla and her siblings at the age of 18.

Darla misses her mom more and more each day she still doesn't know what made her mom leave, she still hopes she sees her again one day . It's been 2 years since then.

Darla makes it to her college but she was still
a bit shocked by the size of the school even though she had been going to the school for 2 weeks now. It was crazy to her how a school can look so big, but be so small. As she walked in she saw her best friend Luna, Darla began to walk to her but she felt a hand on her back when she turned around she saw Richard

"Get off me!" Darla said while while trying to push him off

"But princess your mine" Richard said as he got closer to her

"I am not yours" Darla said in a sharp voice while getting her pepper spray ready

Richard tightened his grip.

Darla was about to use her pepper spray but then out of the blue Ren shows up behind him, grabs Richard by his collar, and throws him to the ground.

"Oh my gosh, thank you!" Darla said surprised but relieved at the fact that she didn't have to waste her pepper spray on an insignificant person like him.

"It's really no big deal if this ever happens again just call me" Ren said

"Yeah I will" Darla said while holding back her laughter from his cringey statement.

Darla sees Luna running up to her.

"OH MY GOSH ARE YOU OK ARE YOU HURT DID HE DO ANYTHING TO YOU" Luna said in the most concerning tone.

"Yeah girl chill I am fine I would never let such a weird person like him do anything to me" Darla said.

"Ok good I called Ren over so he could help" Luna said

"Thank you Luna I really don't give you enough credit" Darla said in a sweet tone as they walked to their class then the next class and then next class until its the end of the day. Darla hops into her car still wondering why they haven't called her yet. The moment she said it out loud her phone went off

"Hello?" Darla said in a confused tone.

"You got the job!" The robotic voice spoke from the other side of the phone
