The fine print between us

Darla gets up grumbling from the sound of a phone call.

Darla answers the phone and half asleep says "hello who's this"

The robotic voice from the other side says "you have been selected for the interview"

Darla asks "what interview?"

The robotic voice responds with "You have been selected to an interview to protect private information"

Darla quickly remembers the phone call from yesterday and reply's with "Oh really when's the interview!"

The robotic voice speaks "it is to be expected that you go to this address at 2:00 pm today" the robot hangs up and the number sends her the address

Darla looks at the message and says to herself
"3366 nightmare street? That's weird" Darla said as she took a screenshot

Darla puts her phone down and goes back to her slumber.

Darla wakes up in a cold sweat and checks her phone and sees it's 12:00 she starts to panic and checks the time it will take to go to the address that they sent her, her heart drops as she sees one hour on her phone. She quickly gets up and makes some breakfast for herself. As she's cooking she hears Ren coming from his room

"I am making breakfast hurry up" Darla says in a loud voice. Ren sits down and starts to watch her cook. Darla feels his gaze on her back, she turns around to see his messily perfect blonde hair and his big blue eyes, she sees every single muscle on his body, Darla quickly snaps out of it and looks away.

"go put something on" Darla says as she lightly smiles

"Oh sorry" Ren said as he flushes a bright red and starts to put his shirt on.

"Here", Darla gives him a plate with eggs and some bread, Darla starts to eat her breakfast in a rush

"whoa what's the rush" Ren asks Darla "I have a interview to go to" Darla said as she finishes her food.

"You got the interview!" Ren exclaimed

"They called me at like 4:00 am about it" Darla told Ren as she walked to her room

"wait so they're open at 4:00 am" Ren said in a worrisome tone.

"Yeah I guess so but I need to go change, bye" Darla told Ren as she shut the door. Darla started searching for clothes but all she could find was a black skirt that didn't have any stains on it and a black blazer with a white shirt. Darla put the clothes on and looked at herself in the mirror she sees her messy brown hair and gray eyes so she brushed her hair, her teeth and put her contacts on. She walked the door to go to her car.

"Wait are you going alone?" Ren exclaimed as he was rapidly running behind Darla

"Of course I am" Darla said

"But isn't it really far? I could just drive you there"

Darla thought about it for a moment she didn't fully trust him yet but it would be nice to have someone drive her so she reluctantly agreed.

Ren hopped in the car and told Darla to put the gps on. When they started to arrive Darla starts to look out the window and sees the vibrant trees she thought about how vibrant and colorful the trees and flowers look compared with the gloomy ones she saw at home.

They get to the place and it looks like a worn down building like as if it's been there with no care for a while. "Do you wanna stay in the car?" Darla asks Ren, Ren smiles softly "yeah"
"Ok bye" Darla exclaimed as she shut the car door. Ren drives on to the nearest parking lot to stay there until she gets back.

Darla enters the building concerned at the lack of architectural thought put into its design. The building was quite literally a single room. There she is met with thirty other people in the room with her. Darla didn't think that a lot of people would be there with her. She was worried even questioning if she should just go back home, but she decided to stay.

She was the last person to get interviewed. They called her Into the office with the door being a curtain. When she went in the room she could feel all three sets of eyes on her.

"So why did you want to sign up for this job" one of the interviewers asked her

"I am really good at keeping secrets and protecting information" Darla said while speaking awkwardly

"What did you see that made you want the job" the interviewer asked in a calm but sharp tone

"I saw a flyer about it so I decided to sign up" Darla
Says

"Ok you will need to sign this contract" the other interviewer said as he gave her the contact

Darla reads the first page of the contract but it's too long "who even reads the fine print anyways" she said to herself. She decided to just go ahead and sign it. She did desperately need this job after all.

"Ok did you read the fine print?" The third interviewer asks her

"Yes" Darla says knowing that she did not read it

"Ok you can go now we will call you back in five hours to tell you if you got the job or not" the main interviewer tells Darla

Darla gets up, walks out the building and calls Ren to come pick her up.

Ren drives up to her and she gets in the car "what took you so long" Darla asks

"I picked up some food, here" Ren hands her a bag with fries, sandwich and a milkshake

"Oh thanks" Darla says as she starts to eat

Ren starts to drive back home. When they get home it's already night time, so Darla goes to the bathroom to take a shower. As she was brushing her teeth she wonders why everyone's interview were much longer than hers but she put no mind to it. Once she's done she sets her alarms then crawls into bed to fall asleep.
