So, as many of the DB Fans may know, DB has gone independent and started a Kickstarter. And has made over $730,000 dollars in total!
This is a very good for The DeathBattle team, as the loyal fans have shown all the support we can for them.
So, what does this mean? How many episodes did this funded?
Well, in total we have gotten 22 episodes! And, with the new format DB Is going by, that's guaranteed 2 years of DB! Which gives them lots of time to get as much sponsorships as possible for all the episodes that are coming!
Now, for what the new format is? Well here is the new DB format:
Episodes will now be released on a constant, monthly schedule every three weeks rather than a seasonal, bi-weekly one.
So, as a result, the traditional season structure established in Season 3 will no longer be used, with the current plan being 12 episodes per year starting in 2025.
However, it was also stated multiple occasions that this is to be a minimum they wish to maintain, meaning more frequent releases are potentially possible and this schedule is not set in stone.
For this year, episodes will release every three weeks.
So, what this means is we're NO LONGER getting seasonal battles now. However, if you want. You guys can call this DeathBattle 24 and 25.
So starting in 2025 the new format will officially start with 1 episode per month at BEST (with a possibility of more each month)
And, as it was mentioned. DeathBattle 2024 will have 4 episodes in total starting on October 6th!
