I woke up to the gentle sunlight peeking through the curtains, a warm, golden glow filling the room. Blinking my eyes open, I glanced at my wife lying beside me, her back pressed against my chest as she slept peacefully. My arms were wrapped around her, holding her close as if she is the most precious thing in my world. And she is.

"Cute," I murmured softly, placing a tender kiss on her cheek from behind.

My eyes drifted towards the clock-8 a.m. I'd slept in longer than usual, something I never did. But today, it didn't matter. A lazy morning, wrapped up in her warmth, felt perfect. With that thought, I snuggled closer, burying my face into the crook of her neck. The scent of her skin, warm and familiar, was comforting. I closed my eyes again, content to steal a few more moments of peace in her embrace.

Time seemed to slip away as I lay there, half-awake, holding her close. At some point, she shifted in her sleep, turning towards me. Her arms found their way around my waist, hugging me tightly. The way she fit perfectly into my embrace, small and delicate, made my heart swell. It was amazing-so good that I couldn't help but smile.

She looked so tiny in my arms, and that was the most adorable thing about it. I couldn't resist stealing another kiss, this time on her forehead, careful not to wake her. She'd stayed up so late last night, and I knew she must have been exhausted.

I reminded myself to let her rest, not wanting to disturb her peace. Holding her like this, feeling the steady rhythm of her breathing against my chest, I realized there was nowhere else I'd rather be.

A few more minutes passed, and I could feel her beginning to stir. Her breathing changed, and I knew she was about to wake up. She rubbed her eyes gently, and without thinking, I quickly closed mine, pretending to still be asleep.

Time seemed to stretch as I lay there, waiting, expecting her to be fully awake by now. The next moment, I sensed her shifting beside me. She got up slightly, placing both her hands on my chest, and settled her chin over them. Even with my eyes closed, I could feel her gaze on me, studying my face intently.
