As Mailee entered her second trimester, the intensity between her and Sebastian in the bedroom only escalated. Each night was filled with heated encounters, their bodies moving together in a rhythm that seemed to grow more passionate with each passing day. Sebastian was relentless, his desire for Mailee insatiable. He explored every inch of her body, his touch igniting fires she didn't know existed within her. The way he would stretch her, the depth of his penetration, the way he would leave her gasping for breath—it was as if he was claiming her over and over again, branding her as his own.
Victoria, blissfully unaware of the situation, continued with her daily routine, completely oblivious to the affair unfolding right under her nose. Sebastian made sure to maintain appearances, still sharing moments of intimacy with his wife that were tender and affectionate. Yet, it was nothing out of the ordinary, nothing compared to the raw, primal connection he shared with Mailee.Mailee, on the other hand, couldn't help but feel a growing resentment toward Victoria. It wasn't just the way Victoria flaunted her perfect life and perfect body in front of her. It was the small, cutting remarks that Victoria would make when Sebastian wasn't around—little jabs at Mailee's background and the changes in her body as the pregnancy progressed.
"So, Mailee," Victoria said one afternoon, her tone dripping with condescension, "do you miss the simple life back in your village? I can't imagine how different this must be for you."
Mailee forced a smile. "It's different, Mrs. Caldwell, but I'm adjusting."
Victoria's eyes narrowed, and she leaned in closer, her voice barely above a whisper. "You know, Sebastian has always preferred a certain type of woman. I can't imagine he'd be interested in someone like you, especially in your current... condition."
The words stung, but Mailee remained composed, swallowing the bitterness that rose in her throat. She knew Victoria was trying to get under her skin, to remind her of her place in their lives. But what Victoria didn't know was that the baby growing inside Mailee seemed to understand her emotions, responding with gentle kicks whenever she felt upset. It was as if the baby was trying to comfort her, reminding her that she was more than just a surrogate.
Despite the tension, the couple continued to attend regular check-ups, their excitement over the baby never waning. During one such visit, the doctor performed an ultrasound, and the image of their child appeared on the screen. The baby was active, kicking and turning in the womb.
"Look at him," Victoria exclaimed, placing her hand on Mailee's belly to feel the movements. "Our little boy is so strong already!"
Sebastian smiled, his hand resting gently on Mailee's other side. "He's going to be a fighter, just like his mother."
Victoria's friends occasionally teased her about leaving her husband alone with a young, attractive surrogate. One evening, during a dinner party, one of them remarked, "Aren't you worried, Vic? I mean, your husband and a young virgin surrogate girl all alone? That's a recipe for trouble if you ask me."
Victoria laughed it off, brushing aside their concerns. "Oh, please, you know Sebastian. He's too busy to even look at another woman. And besides, Mailee? She's just a girl from a village. She knows her place."
Meanwhile, back at home, Mailee and Sebastian's relationship continued to deepen. The evening Victoria returned from her girls' night out, Mailee and Sebastian heard the front door open. Sebastian had just finished an intimate moment with Mailee when they heard Victoria's voice echo through the house. Just as he was about to leave Mailee's room, she grabbed his hand and placed it over her growing belly where the baby was moving.
"Feel that?" she asked, her voice soft and inviting. She then guided his hand to her breast, her nipples hardening under his touch. "You should stay. Just for a little longer."
Sebastian hesitated, clearly torn between his duties as a husband and his growing attachment to Mailee. He leaned in and kissed her forehead. "You rest first. I'll be back."
Later that night, after ensuring Victoria was thoroughly satisfied and fast asleep, Sebastian returned to Mailee's room. From the slight opening of their bedroom door, deliberately left ajar by Victoria, Mailee caught a glimpse of their passionate encounter reflected in the bedroom mirror. The sight of them entwined on the bed sent a surge of emotions through her that she struggled to suppress. Sebastian slipped into bed beside Mailee, spooning her as his hand instinctively rested on her belly.
"What's wrong, baby?" he asked, sensing her unease. "You seem different. You know that Victoria is my lawful wife, and this baby you're carrying is ours, right?"
Mailee paused, trying to gather her thoughts. "Nothing's wrong, Sebastian. I'm just nearing the end of my second trimester, and I was wondering what our baby might be like. Maybe... maybe we could find out after this?"
Sebastian sighed, his hand still rubbing her belly. "We'll see about that. Let's take things one step at a time."
As Sebastian returned to Victoria's side that night, Mailee's thoughts lingered on his words. There was a glimmer of hope in them, a possibility that things might turn in her favour.
Throughout their conversation, Sebastian sensed that Mailee was in for more than just her role as a surrogate. The idea intrigued him—perhaps they could keep Mailee on as a nanny to care for the child or children. As he toyed with the thought, a more audacious plan began to form in his mind. Victoria, so deeply engrossed in her luxurious lifestyle, might not even mind adopting the children he could potentially father with Mailee as her own.
Sebastian imagined how easily this arrangement could blend into their lives. Victoria's love for the opulent, carefree existence might allow her to embrace the idea of raising Mailee's children as part of the Caldwell family. After all, if Victoria never knew the truth, she could continue to live in blissful ignorance, and Mailee could remain close, nurturing the children she carried. The possibility was both tantalizing and dangerous, but the thought of it lingered, tempting Sebastian with the notion of a future that could satisfy all his desires.
