Tanghali akong nagising dahil sa matinding pagod. Napakamot ako sa leeg habang nakatanaw sa labas ang pintuan ng aking balkonahe. Lately, I’ve been pushing myself to the brink. Everything has been unfolding differently, yet exactly as I had planned.
"Sarah, if I were to die, would you cry?" I asked suddenly, glancing at her. Her eyes widened in shock. "Your Majesty! Huwag kang magsasalita ng ganyan!" she exclaimed, the nervousness clearly etched on her face.
I chuckled softly. "I’m just joking, you’re too serious," I replied, but the truth was, the thought of death had been lingering in my mind. What if I were to die tomorrow or soon? Would anyone shed a tear for me?
"Your Majesty, maraming salamat sa pagsagip ng aking kapatid, utang ko sayo ang buhay ko, Your Majesty!" she said, surprising me as she suddenly knelt before me. The sincerity in her eyes was unmistakable, and she even began to cry.
I smiled at her gently and rose from my bed. "You owe me nothing, Sarah. I simply did what was right," I said sincerely. I walked over to her, placed my hand on her shoulder, and helped her rise from her kneeling position.
"Napakabuti ng iyung puso, Your Majesty," she uttered with tears welling up in her eyes. I couldn’t help but chuckle softly and gently wiped away her tears. "I’m not as kind as you think," I said, my voice calm but firm. "In fact, I have taken lives." My words caused her eyes to widen in shock, as if the idea was impossible for her to comprehend.
"Hush now, and prepare my bath," I commanded, signaling the end of our conversation. She quickly composed herself and replied with a respectful nod, "Masusunod, Your Majesty," bowing her head in obedience.
After my bath, I wasted no time and headed straight to the dungeon.
"Oh, so there are still people here," I remarked as I entered, my voice echoing through the cold, dark dungeon. My words caused the prisoners to flinch from their uneasy rest. Fear swiftly washed over their faces, their expressions now filled with dread as they realized who had come to visit them.
"Swerte kayong tatlo, hindi kayo nakasama sa pagbitay kahapon," My words made their eyes widen, a flicker of hope suddenly appearing on their faces. "Your Majesty, papakawalan mo na ba kami?" one of them dared to ask, his voice carrying a note of relief.
I stared at him for a moment before a mocking laugh escaped my lips, echoing through every corner of the dungeon. "Fools!" I spat, my expression twisting into one of fury, "You are guilty of sin, yet you dare to hope for mercy?" I laughed again, this time with a cruel, devilish tone.
The hope in their eyes quickly vanished, replaced by sheer terror.
"Edward," I called out, my voice commanding. Edward, who had been standing about five meters away, immediately stepped forward, coming to my side. He bowed his head in deference. "Your Majesty," he responded, awaiting my next order.
Ngumisi ako sa tatlong tulisan. "Bury them alive," I declared, and their eyes widened in horror once more.
They began to plead for mercy, their voices trembling with desperation, but I no longer paid them any attention. I turned my back on them and walked away, leaving their frantic pleas to echo unanswered in the dark dungeon.
The audacity of these fools to hope for freedom! How utterly ridiculous!
I made my way to His Majesty's workroom and began sifting through the files that were laid out before me. One report caught my attention—it concerned the closure of several businesses owned by the nobles. This was something I had anticipated, yet I found myself puzzled. Why did they feel the need to close down their businesses? Are they truly willing to let their families fall into ruin just because they’ve lost a loved one? These nobles can be incredibly stubborn.
