Cross knelt before Racules, holding out the Venomix shooter. "As promised, I have taken back the crown of the King of the InBetween, the traitor who serves the bugs, the traitor who seeks to unravel this great nation."

Racules smiled, approaching and reaching out for the weapon, but Cross pulled it back with a grin. The king's men drew their weapons, ready to act on this act of disobedience.

"A moment. Though I will give you the weapon, let me present a suggestion first. The tyrant king is still out there, making a mockery of your kingdom and the great unity. Might I use this weapon to get close to him and take back all of the stolen arms, returning them to the true kings of unity? I guarantee they will not be able to use them once I get my hands on them."

Cross's grin widened as he saw the flicker of interest in Racules' eyes. He knew he had the king's attention, and now it was time to seal the deal.

Racules was curious but pragmatic. "What do you mean they won't be able to use them?"

Cross gave a small smile. "It's a gift of mine. You see, any weapon I wield becomes something only I can wield. That is why I am now King of the InBetween."

One of the aides spoke up, surprised. "Are you saying you can use Jeramie's weapon?"

Cross nodded. "If it pleases the king, may I demonstrate?"

Racules' eyes narrowed as he considered Cross's proposal. The promise of reclaiming stolen arms was tempting, but could he trust this self-proclaimed king? Racules paused for a moment, stroking his chin in thought, then nodded.

Cross inserted the key and transformed once again, becoming the King of the InBetween to the shock and surprise of all present.

"You see, it's a gift I picked up some time ago. Any weapon that I touch that allows one to transform becomes imprinted with my essence, linking it specifically to me. And best of all, it doesn't even need to be working when I get my hands on it. I can take a broken weapon and make it shine like new."

This, above all else, caught Racules' attention. Cross's heart pounded with a mix of excitement and conviction. He truly believed that unifying the nation under Racules was the right path, and he was determined to prove it.

The room was tense, the air thick with anticipation. The king's men stood ready, their weapons gleaming under the dim light. Cross's voice echoed in the chamber, each word carefully chosen to sway the king.

Racules' eyes gleamed with interest. "Very well," he said slowly. "'Show me what you can do."

Cross's smile widened, knowing that this was just the beginning. Despite the doubts gnawing at his mind, a spark of determination flickered within Cross. He would prove his worth, reclaim his crown, and show that he was the true King of the InBetween.
