The Aftermath of the Encounter
The golden rays of the setting sun bathed the palace grounds in a warm, amber hue, casting long shadows across the courtyard where the remnants of the haldi ceremony lingered. The air, once filled with laughter and the playful banter of friends and family, now seemed heavy with the weight of unspoken emotions. Ishana hurried back to her chambers, her heart pounding in her chest, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts and fears.
Once inside, she leaned against the door, her breathing uneven as she tried to steady herself. The warmth of Kanha's embrace still clung to her skin, the scent of sandalwood lingering in her senses. She had never felt so conflicted, so torn between duty and desire. Her fingers trembled as she wiped away the haldi from her face, but the memories of his touch, the intensity in his eyes, refused to fade.
She moved to the window, gazing out at the distant horizon where the sun dipped lower, almost as if it were sinking into the earth. Her thoughts turned to her sisters—Pihu, Priya, and Akshu. She had to protect them, but how? Could she really walk away from everything for love? For Kanha? The very idea frightened her.
A gentle knock on her door interrupted her thoughts. It was Pihu, her youngest sister, her eyes wide with concern.
"Ishana didi, are you okay?" Pihu asked, her voice soft but filled with worry.
Ishana forced a smile, trying to mask the turmoil within her. "I'm fine, Pihu. Just tired. The ceremony took a lot out of me."
Pihu wasn't convinced. She had seen the look in Ishana's eyes during the ceremony, the way her sister had avoided everyone after slipping away. "Did something happen, didi? You can tell me."
For a moment, Ishana considered confiding in her sister, telling her everything about Kanha and Duryodhana, but the words caught in her throat. How could she burden Pihu with her troubles? How could she explain the mess of emotions she herself barely understood?
"Nothing happened, Pihu. Really," Ishana replied, reaching out to brush a strand of hair from her sister's face. "Just... a lot on my mind. Don’t worry, everything will be okay."
Pihu nodded, though her eyes still held doubt. "If you say so, didi. But remember, we're here for you, no matter what."
Ishana smiled, touched by her sister's words, but as Pihu left, the weight of her decisions pressed down on her harder than before. She knew that the time for choices was fast approaching, and she could no longer avoid it.

Kanha’s Anguish
In another part of the palace, Kanha sat alone in the gardens, his thoughts consumed by the earlier encounter with Ishana. The moon had begun to rise, casting a silvery light over the flowers and trees, but the beauty of the night did little to soothe the storm raging inside him.
