It was a quiet Sunday morning in the neighborhood where the Kims, Jeons, Parks, Mins, and Jungs lived. The children of these families, all around the same age, got along well, their lives closely intertwined.

But inside the Kim household, the familiar sound of raised voices echoed through the walls once again.

Kim Jisoo and Kim Dowoo were fighting-yet another argument in the long line of many.

Eighteen-year-old Seokjin had already found an escape. He was at the lake park with his friends Namjoon and Yoongi, far away from the chaos at home. But Taehyung wasn't so lucky. At only ten years old, he was stuck in the middle, trapped in the crossfire of his parents' quarrel.

"Taehyung, go tell your father-"
"No, Taehyung, tell your mother-"

They used him as a go-between, as if he were some messenger responsible for bridging the gap they couldn't seem to cross themselves. Taehyung stood there, exhausted by the constant turmoil. He was vexed by it all, thinking to himself, Why don't they just get a divorce? Wouldn't it be better than fighting all the time and pretending everything's fine later? He was beginning to feel like his entire life was nothing but a cycle of arguments and temporary truces, only for the tension to build again. And in the process, he knew it wasn't just him who was suffering-his older brother Seokjin was affected too.

The thought struck him hard, weighing down on his young heart. God, send me help.

"YAHH!! KIM TAEHYUNG, ARE YOU... there?" Seoyoung's voice broke through the noise of the fight, calling from the front door. She paused, taking in the scene before her-the couple's argument unfolding right in front of her eyes. She groaned inwardly. Again? This wasn't the first time she'd walked in on this, and she doubted it would be the last.

"Uncle, Aunty," Seoyoung started, her voice loud enough to cut through the tension, "Seokjin and his friends at the lake park are teasing my friends. I need Taehyung to fight back. I'm taking him." Without waiting for their response, she grabbed Taehyung by the arm and dragged him out of the house.

Once they were outside, Taehyung let out a sigh of relief. "Thanks, yarr," he muttered, grateful to Seoyoung for pulling him out of the mess.

Seoyoung, never one to take gratitude too seriously, mimicked his tone with a smug grin, striding forward with a playful swagger.

As they made their way to the lake park, they were joined by Jimin, who had overheard the commotion and tagged along. The three of them arrived at the park to find Seokjin, Namjoon, and Yoongi standing by the lakeside. Seokjin had his arm around a girl, while Namjoon and Yoongi were busy taking pictures.

Seoyoung didn't hesitate. She ran up to the girl, grabbing her hand. "WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING HERE?" she yelled. "DO YOU REALLY THINK SHE HAS NO ONE? SEE ME, JIMIN, AND TAEHYUNG ARE HERE. FIGHT US!!"

Yoongi couldn't help but laugh at her fierce display, shaking his head. "Do you really think we're doing something with her? Hell no. She asked Jin to take pictures with her, and Jin generously accepted."

Namjoon smirked at Seoyoung. "Poor you," he teased, drawing out the words with mocking sympathy.

Jin, ever the smooth talker, walked up to Seoyoung, leaning in close enough to whisper, "If I have to do things to anyone, it would only be you, princess."

Seoyoung, taken aback for only a second, shoved him back playfully, her voice ringing out in a mock challenge. "Keep your word, prince."
