What the hell? I feel a hand over my mouth. I try to turn my head to see who it is, but they're holding me too tight. The heat from the person's hand against my mouth is a palpable thing, but they're not pressing down. Like they're afraid of touching me. Or...hurting me? Wait, heat? It's the Hero! How did he manage to sneak up on me like that? What do I do?! This is way too close for my liking. I can feel Heros' warmth, his pulse beating against mine. It's...different. But then I really notice his arm around me. How close he is. How he's holding me. Not good. Memories of what happened when I was held like this surge through my mind. My heart is racing. I wince as he squeezes me. My hands twitch, I almost make a knife. I almost hurt him. No. I can't. I can't hurt him. Calm down Vies. He's not them. I make my body go limp, I relax everything. My nerves are still frazzled. I close my eyes. Shhhh, calm down. It's alright. I'm safe. I hear him take in a sharp breath of surprise as I slump against him. Ha, bet you're regretting squeezing me now. Now let go. Please let go. I don't want to hurt you. I feel his grip loosen a bit. Good enough. With a burst of power, I make a portal. We fall through and land on the rooftop of the building next to where we were.
The air is biting, the wind is howling around us. Hero stumbles as we land on the roof and I quickly shove back to get him off of me, he lets go to try and regain his balance. I rush forward as soon as his arms are off me and get a good few feet away before I quickly turn around and get into a defensive position, my knives raised. My hands have a slight tremor in them. My heart is still racing. I'm still shaken. I glare at my hands. They stop shaking. I see Hero stumbling still and smirk. Yeah, you're not very good up here are you? This is my turf. Let's see how well you do all the way up here.
Yes Vies, watch him suffer, but let him catch you, let him kill you! Let him make you suffer, you know you deserve it! JUST LIKE WHAT HAPPENED THERE!
Shut up, I'm in the middle of something, and I still have the target to deal with, so just SHUT UP! I throw some ice at Hero and say, "How did you find me?! How dare you grab me! What were you thinking Hero?! I could've killed you!" He's lucky I'm in a good mood after skating. I'll just throw some ice at him. Just a little warning to back off and leave me alone. I've got plans for tonight, I'm not about to let him ruin them. "You're daring to ask me how I knew where you were?" Hero retorts, his eyes flashing with anger. "You're the one who's been leaving a trail of bodies all over the city, and you think you're hard to find? I've been tracking you for weeks, Vies. I know your patterns, your habits. I know how you think." He takes a step closer, his voice dropping to a low growl. "And as for grabbing you, you're lucky I didn't knock you out right there. You're a murderer, Vies."
Yes, Vies, listen to him, you heard him say it, it must be true, you DESERVE to die.
I hear the voices in my head speaking, Hero is still talking. He pauses, his gaze boring into mine. "I want to know what drives you, what makes you think you're so much better than everyone else. What makes you think you're qualified to hand out 'judgement'?" I stare at him in disbelief.
"Of course I'm the only one to hand out judgement! It's not like you guys are doing it! I'm the only cryokinetic ever, I might as well make use of my power for something and get rid of all the people that others couldn't. That the police couldn't, that YOU couldn't. I'm just giving them all what they deserve! And you've been stalking me?! Damn Hero, I didn't know you liked me THAT much!" Hero's expression twists in annoyance. He seems to ignore my taunt about liking me, I smile. "You think you're above the law? Above justice? You're just a vigilante, Vies. A self-appointed judge, jury, and executioner. And you're using your power to take the law into your own hands. Newsflash, Vies: you're not the only one who can make a difference. And you're certainly not the only one who can bring justice to this city. And what are you smiling for?!" He spits out the words, his anger and contempt clearly evident, but he genuinely seems to think I don't understand.
