"You know what?" You slip your blue card onto the counter, "I don't even need the money that badly." You walk right around the dancing man and make your way for the door. You are not about adventure. You are not about taking risks. You are not one to explore. You are not one to take chances. You just want to go home and sit on your bed doing absolutely nothing. You don't even know why you're here. You never actually asked for this.
The walk back to your car seems longer this time. Maybe due to how tired you are. Due to the stress of the day. Due to how dark it is and how much you are just hoping beyond hope that all the reflecting eyes you see in the middle distance are just overly curious rabbits and not a hungry pack of coyotes. They would be very tall rabbits. You quicken your pace.
You make it back to your car in one piece. Your parents even show up as promised. Although, much to your surprise, Sheila starts up just fine for your father. So typical of Sheila.
"Go on, then." Your mother indicates for you to return to your campus. "We'll follow you back to make sure you get there safely." Safely. Because that is what you are. Safe.
Boring.
There isn't a single curious, bold, brave, or daring bone in your body.
You'll go out of your way to avoid any kind of experience that involves even an ounce of fortitude.
And thus, you've reached the end of your adventure.
You return to your dorm with some sympathy money and a headache. Pitiful, but alright.
THE END
