Her short vacation was over, whether she was ready or not it was time to return to her responsibilities. Everything had been resolved with her father, he had told her what she had to do, she had met who she needed to meet and now she was on her way to her office for the summer.
She was thinking that at least she would be busy and wouldn't have time to think about her new love dilemmas when she opened the door.
There in her new office, sitting before her new desk and extraordinarily handsome in a suit.
-Boruto?! She said startled
- Hey. He greeted her casually when she almost had a heart attack when she saw him.
- What... what are you doing here?
- I work here.
- What?!
-Listen, Sarada I was waiting for you, I wanted to explain it to you personally.
- Come in, sit down, he told her when she saw that she had remained frozen at the door, guiding her by her shoulders to her desk.
- A lot of things happened these days he said conversationally
- Weren't you going to start working with your father? She asked him bewildred
- Yes, but we argued again, you know... we don't get along very well and politics is just not my thing.
- Your father found us arguing and he offered me an opportunity here at the company. It's an excellent opportunity, I had to take it. He explained easily.
- I hope you don't mind.
- Oh
- I hope it doesnt bother you he added unsurely
- Bother me? She asked him surprised. Why would it bother me?
- Well I... I don't know. He said a bit nervous
- Of course it doesn't bother me, she assured him. I was just... surprised
He smiled ar her more relaxed.
--Well now that that's settled, how was Bali?
- Fine... you know I just... I needed a vacation before starting all this. She invented wildly.
- Right. Well, I'll let you work. See you around.
- He left her there. With her feelings reawakened by seeing him again.
At first she was relieved to have made it through that first re encounter.. It even seemed to her that it had gone well, things seemed the same as before between them at least.
The following weeks she saw little of him, both of them busy with the heavy workloads that Sasuke gave them. She saw him occasionally, they talked about work, neither of them even remotely mentioned that night together.
As time went by she became a little depressed. Had it been so unmemorable for him? He didn't seem to even remember anything having happened between them.
It was more difficult for her.
It was difficult for her to see him
It was difficult for her to talk to him.
Her feelings towards him increasing by having him around, but she didn't know how to deal with them.
She started avoiding him a little.
Of course the more she wanted to avoid him. The more he seemed to be around
That morning he had gone to visit her in her office and after telling her the Uzumaki family gossip in detail without anyone asking him, he asked her.
- Sarada... are you going? ... Saturday?
His birthday.
He always had a big party for his birthday, she went every year of course.
This year she had decided not to go, her poor heart couldn't take it anymore.
But what excuse could she have for not going to her childhood friend and work colleague's birthday party?
- Yeah. Of course.
