"Bad things happen
When angry people grieve."...
"Wes! Wes!"
The little boy groans when his bedroom door is flung open and suddenly, someone is throwing themselves onto his bed with him.
"Guess what!"
He grumbles, burying his face in his pillow and complaining into the cotton of his pillowcase about how early it was. "Willow!" He whines, telling her to go away as he was too tired to guess.
The little girl only giggles, climbing over him and getting into his face to tell him that she didn't care how tired he was - this was too exciting to wait. "Guess!" She pesters, jabbing her fingers into his back and begging him to wake up and humor her with a guess.
"No!" He shouts, curling away from her touch and pulling another pillow over his head as he goes to block out the light. "Go away!"
"Nuh-uh," she denies, shaking her head as her grin grows and she tries to wrestle the pillow out of his grip. "Let it go!"
"Let me sleep!" Wes argues, and the two bicker as he the boy fights her hard for the pillow, insisting he was sleepy and she should just go away, but she refused to listen.
Willow grunts, sliding her legs off the edge of his bed and planting her feet into the carpeted floor of his bedroom before giving it another tug. "Why are you so grumpy?!" she questions, and Wes gasps.
"I am not grumpy!" He defends, straining once more with a final tug of his own, before finally, he relents. "You know what?! Fine!" He shouts, releasing the pillow from his grasp and gaping when, suddenly, Willow goes flying backwards. "Wills!"
The girl lands on the floor with a thud, and she lies quietly for that of a second, allowing her brother to peek over the edge of the bed at her before she's breaking out into a fit of giggles. "Ha!" She cheers, sitting up and holding the pillow above her head in a show of her victory.
He only rolls his eyes, kicking off his blanket to sit up and check on her. "Are you okay?"
Humming, the girl nods, tossing his pillow to the side and reaching out a hand, asking him to help her up. "Guess what," she repeats as he helps her stand.
"What?" He murmurs, sighing when she elbows past him and hops back onto his bed.
"There's only twelve more hours to go!" She sings, and he narrows his eyes, arms crossing as he asks how she knew that.
"I was talking to Jamie, and she said that there's only twelve more hours left until midnight," the little girl explains, using her fingers to count to twelve and show her twin, as though he needed the visual aid. "And midnight is when tomorrow starts, and you know what tomorrow is?"
