Pen returned home with a sad smile on his face. He was tarnished by the disgust and hatred that Eloise shower on him. He did not knew whether he made the right decision and how things were going to turn. Drown in thoughts he entered in hall. Hall was filled with the presence of Lady Featherington and Prudence. Addressing her in a serious tone "Mama I need to talk about something!"

Lady Featherington sensing the tension in air "Where are you coming from and why are you dressed like that?"

Pen: "I went to Bridgerton house to ask for the hand of Eloise and she said yes."

Lady Featherington: "Do you think of me as a clown? Are you in your right mind Pen? Without discussing it with me how can you take a step like that? How..."

Interrupting her. Pen: "Let me talk! I can take my own decisions Mama. I am Lord Featherington if you do not know."

Lady Featherington: "What are you planing? You know I am preparing for the wedding of Prudence already. We cannot afford a second marriage."

Pen: "We can use dowry for that."

Lady Featherington: "Did she really said yes?" She was in shock. It was hard to even imagine.

Pen: "Yes! I want to see the papers. I am going in office."

With a serious face he went to his room. Prudence who was just listening until now sitting "Mama I will not share my day!" She frowned.

Calling a servant "I want you to go to Bridgerton house and invite Lady Bridgerton for tea this evening."

Nodding the servant left. There was a lot to handle and discuss. In what world did this happen. Meanwhile in Bridgerton halls Lady Bridgerton was in complete shock. Examining the situation until a servant from Featherington house delivered the invite.

Benedict: "Yes we will be there." With a plain smile. "Mama Eloise has decided I think we should support her. We should get ready for the tea at Featherington's."

Scene: Tea in the Featherington's house. In the presence of Benedict,Ladies of the house, Prudence,Francesca,Pen enjoying the tea and sweets chaperoned by the servant.

Lady Featherington: "It's really nice to see you."

Lady Bridgerton: "Yes." She forced a smile.

Pen: "I think a week after the marriage of Prudence we can arrange my marriage with Eloise." He was serious. He felt as if his soul was drained and he was behaving as a dead person. The amount of hate Eloise gave him in the morning was enough to break him.

Clearly unhappy with the situation Benedict responded "I will see into things. We can discuss about the dowry and other legalisations."

Lady Bridgerton: "I think we need to go and check the date from church and inform Queen as well." Trying to delay the event.

Pen giving the reality check "I think this marriage will not be a great matter for either of them."

Replied by the silence of everybody. Decision was made and now the preparations were to be done for the shocking wedding of the season. All of it happened so quickly that it affected the foundations of their equations in the ton. With Daphne married to a dutch and other married in a family like Featherington's it was a great shock.
